Any experience with the new Linn Sondek upgrades? Rgurney's point is well taken, you certainly don't have to use Linn tonearms or cartridges on an LP12. But I think some caution is in order with respect to tonearms. A lot of newer tonearms are quite heavy (e.g. the SME and higher range Origin Liv...
Denon's new Blu-Ray player Justin:The player would freeze far too often. Sony may have worked out the bugs - the two I had problems with were both purchased late last winter. At the time, I noticed I was not the only person returning them to Best Buy.Chris
furman elite 20 power conditioner Kedoades:I'm a huge fan of Overture, and can't recommend them highly enough. You would probably do well to consider buying your Furman from them. It may cost you a fraction more than at Audio Advisor, but they will do the A/B for you in the store ...
Denon's new Blu-Ray player "It takes a much larger screen to take advantage of high definition. It's funny what people consider too expensive for certain improvements. Some people don't mind spending a whole lot for a power cord or interconnects but balk at paying for real ...
furman elite 20 power conditioner Furman products are simply awesome. Great bang for the buck and the only power conditioning I've tried that has improved the sound in my system. I don't know anything about effectively "doubling the power of your amp," however. That statement soun...
Need Guidance From Vienna Acoustics Bach Owners I've heard the Bach's, though haven't owned them. They are a polite, sweet sounding speaker, though perhaps a bit colored to my ear. That is not necessarily a bad thing - very few speakers really have a neutral voicing - you just need to like the ...
Any experience with the new Linn Sondek upgrades? The good Mr. Sayles and I are on the same wavelength with respect to the LP12. But we do diverge dramatically in our opinion of Linn electronics, of which I am most fond, and don't find lacking in musicality in the least. But I believe he is a tub...
Any experience with the new Linn Sondek upgrades? I have what up until earlier this year would have been called a maxed out LP12. It has been a great table for me, but I have no plan at all to upgrade to the Ekos SE from my Ekos II. I am considering the Keel, but I'm not at all sure I'll plunge. ...
THE BEST $2000 TURNTABLE - NEW OR USED ?????? Linn LP12's are an excellent buy used IF you have a dealer or tech in your area to get it serviced and set up. If you don't, I'd recommend something like a Rega P 5. But mind you if you do have a Linn dealer in your area, I think 2k into a used LP...
Linn Keel upgrade for LP12 It represents a huge improvement - much greater than any previous LP 12 upgrade as far as I can judge these things. Be sure you hear one. That said, it is quite pricey.
most accurate loudspeakers.... Active ATCs or PMCs. Take your pick.
Should I replace my LP12? I think there is a very, very high probability you will do better upgrading your LP12 with the funds you have than buying something new. Actually, I think it is pretty much a certainty. If you had 5k to 7.5k to spend, then maybe you could try some...
Solid state pre + power for Sonus Faber Guarneris? "But the klimax gear MUST be pared with highend source of same caliber as the klimaxes or it may have a completly different outcome."Oh, how true. Without a quality source, a Klimax Kontrol preamp in particular can be your worst enemy. It is simpl...
Solid state pre + power for Sonus Faber Guarneris? If you get a chance, listen to a Linn Klimax Kontrol preamp combined with the Klimax Twin amp. Linn mates very nicely with SF.
Good low-price cartridge for listening to rock. Linn Adikt. Excellent mm for the price, and has real slam. Also allows you load replacement tip when you need one for less than half the cost of the original cartridge. |
