Will a "universal voltage" component work in US? Usually this means there is a switch on the product that lets you chooses between 115v and 220v. Regardless, it will sound a bit better at the voltage used in its design (so if it is from the U.K. or elsewhere in Europe , at 220 v).
Best "RedBook" player out there I second the vote for a used Ikemi or a new Linn Majik. There are of course other options as well - these are just my favorites (by a wide margin)in this price range among the players I have heard. But tastes do vary.
quadraspire reference Don't give up your Ikemi, or you will regret it! I thought the same way not long ago and sold my Unidisk 2.1, but discovered I really missed the digital option. And cheaper CDP's just aren't going to cut it in a system as revealing as yours. In th...
quadraspire reference Yes, the Klimax Kontrol is simply wonderful! I love this thing. And if I were going to buy a second acrylic shelf for a Q4, the Kontrol is definitely what I would have resting on it. But first you might also want to consider a Quadraspire Referenc...
quadraspire reference Jaf2290:Love your system!I have done the A/B with glass vs. acrylic shelfs in my Quadraspire cube series stuff (which is not quite as good sonically as the Q4, but the only thing that fits and is wife approved for my living room). There is a very ...
iPod as a source 80 gig model, lossless David:If you have anything wireless that sounds close to a CD 12 you give me hope. I clearly need to buff up my approach, because it certainly hasn't worked out that way for me yet.Chris
iPod as a source 80 gig model, lossless I agree with the first two posters. An iPod playing non-compressed files is roughly as good as what I have been able to accomplish with a wireless music server so far, but is in no way even remotely as satisfying to me as a good CD player. As to us...
vinyl storage????? Erratum: the Quadraspire cubes hold 150 LP's (not sure on how many lbs).
vinyl storage????? Check out Quadraspire at http://www.quadraspire.co.uk/product_range/qube/page3/index.htmlThey have just introduced some handy storage cubes, each holding around 150 lbs. They can be stacked, placed side to side, etc. Beautiful as well.
How would you rate these 2 Channel amps I am sorry for not being sensitive to your location in making my previous comment. Of course I see your point. But it sounds like even if it was hard to come by you have purchased some very nice equipment. Don't be turned off by my comments about ...
How would you rate these 2 Channel amps I fear there are real limits to the extent general answers to this very general question will be helpful. You simply have to listen to products from the different brands to know if they are going to please you in your system. For instance, several...
Power cable that will "calm" digital I will be extremely surprised if a power cord will solve your problem. A much better bet is to save up and buy a better digital source. I have found there is a magical threshold in CD players above which music becomes truly involving. This seems t...
Upgrade Power conditioner Please audition something from the Furman Reference line. The Reference 15 can be had for 2k new, and is without question the best power conditioner I have heard. In fact, it is the only one I consider better than going without conditioning at all...
Looking For A Vinyl Setup I would second the vote for Rega (a P5) if you want a very solid, nice sounding and simple to use turntable. On the other hand, if you have a Linn dealer in your area that can educated you and provide support, and you have your eye on upgrading in...
Most Effective Tweaks You probably already have them, but if you don't, get dedicated lines. I think they are the biggest bang for your buck available in Hi-Fi. Now for a controversial suggestion - get your cables burned in on Nordost's new Vidar system. I am likely to... |
