Best Audio Dealer in San Francisco Area
I wouldn't claim to have a "top audio showroom", but we do have an acoustically treated room featuring Magico speakers with Devialet, Lumin, and Bryston electronics as well as other brands. We're located in San Jose.
Bryston 135 Cubed
The Bryston B-135 Cubed is essentially a BP-17 Cubed plus a 2.5B3. Speaking as someone who has the BP-17 Cubed and 2.5B3 here, I would say it's hard to go wrong with the B-135 Cubed as an integrated amplifier provided Bryston's Cubed line in gener...
How To Clean Piano Black Speaker Finish?
You can purchase piano cleaner fluid, and use a microfiber cloth or similar (e.g. piano cleaning cloths).
Shout out your favorite Audio dealer!!
Local to me, I recommend The Analog Room. They're in Campbell, California. Brian has been running the place for a long time and in my experience is helpful, friendly, and professional.
An alternative for Bluesound?
As it sounds like your issues are more software oriented instead of hardware, you might find it most useful to try out some alternative software front ends. Will the Linn Kazoo software work with your existing Bluesound unit? You can try Roon and L...
Is it the amp or the wiring?
I'd also lean towards some intermittent or unreliable wiring issue going to the left speaker, or in the left speaker. That would be the first thing I'd try to diagnose anyway.
Any Love For Bryston Here?
Bryston is one of the most popular and stable brands that is well known in pro, audiophile, and casual demographics. It may be there isn't a lot of discussion because it is relatively easy to find a local Bryston dealer to audition their products,...
$1500 system for a friend
@zavato how about a Marantz M-CR612 (all-in-one CD player plus streaming integrated amp) plus a pair of Internet-direct speakers (e.g. SVSound, Emotiva, Ascend Acoustics, Aperion Audio, etc.)?
Any improvement of using 2K$ Dac with Cambridge CXN
@wallpoom separating out the DAC and the streaming technology in order to upgrade those over time without constraint does favor going with separates. The only issue would be MQA, if that is important to you, since that technology usually requires b...
Any improvement of using 2K$ Dac with Cambridge CXN
@wallpoom IMO it depends on what your goal is. It kind of looks like you're looking at all-in-one network streaming DACs, but asking if that is a better option versus a standalone DAC where you continue using the Cambridge Audio as your network st...
Pass Labs XA30.8
@panerai557 specifically with respect to your question on the difference in sound character between your existing Bryston 4B3 and a Pass XA30.8, the design goals of the two companies are different. If you like the way Bryston sounds, you may not l...
MQA Stream into non MQA DAC
If I understand your question correctly, the streaming device (BlueSound Node 2i) would need to perform any unfolding before it sends the bitstream out to your non-MQA DAC.If you send an MQA-bitstream directly to a non-MQA DAC, it will incorrectly...
Onix H34
You might try contacting Angel City Audio.
Just listened to Focal Sopra 2 on Devialet 130Pro
@techno_dude the Expert 130 and Expert 140 Pro have less drive capability than the Expert 220 Pro and higher models, and Devialet improved the sound quality with the upgrade to Pro. So those are two things to consider with respect to what you hear...
Does my setup need a phono stage?
I agree that an outboard phono stage can result in improvement. I also agree that you'd get the most bang for your buck shopping for a used or demo unit, given your budget. Some models I would recommend researching are the Bryston BP-2 MM, Gold Not...
