preamp with only 1 set of pre-outs: adding sub.... A pair y connectors will allow you to connect both to the outputs. Not a purist arrangement but works fine and I doubt anyone can hear the difference.
Using analog intended PC for a digital source The sky will open up and the high-end audio gods will smite you! Be very, very careful. :-)I doubt you will hear a difference but you will only know by trying both.
Decca vs London? Decca for the Stones. They are the best but tend to be pricey in Near Mint condition.
Contacting Classic Records / themusic.com Never buy directly from them. Use one of the retailers such as Acoustic Sounds or Music Direct. They will replace defective product. As I said, Classic and The Music suck.
Contacting Classic Records / themusic.com Good luck. They suck.
built-in receiver phono preamps, how good are they You have to listen. Some built-in phono stages were very good and others were not.
CRC on the back insert? Yes. The old Columbia Record Club.
Wow I just got the KAB strobe One of the best tools I own. Wouldn't be without it.
Is your image centred? What you describe is normal and is what a good system should do. If everything was to the left or right then you have a problem.
Digital remastering of CD's Because most CD buyers don't care.
Digital XLR vs. Analog XLR - Balanced Cables So all XLR cables are wired the same? How about the XLR jacks? Are hot, neutral and ground all terminated the same? I think not but I may be wrong. For AES/EBU input and output jacks are all terminated with the same pattern.
Digital XLR vs. Analog XLR - Balanced Cables Kal,Is that correct? I know that there is more than one wiring pattern for balanced cables. It has no impact when used as a digital cable?
Digital XLR vs. Analog XLR - Balanced Cables The digital cable is actually AES/BU and the pinout will not be the same. I've never tried a balanced XLR as a digital link and can't tell you if it will cause any damage. I would recommend caution.
rega p3/24 vs. music hall mm5.1 Buy the Rega.
LCD TV - Are they reliable ? I normally don't buy them either. I did for my Hitachi 60" LCD rear projection and it has paid for itself with a new light engine and a bulb replacement. I plan to get another bulb replaced before the warranty expires. |
