Turntable sound bad Stringreen, I'm glad you like it. I've heard that table with about every type of support imaginable and always prefer the stock feet. We all don't hear the same. Whatever works for you is correct.
Turntable sound bad Viridian, agreed, removing the stock feet is a recipe for disaster with this table. Those feet are tuned for the table and provide the best support/isolation for it. I don't think that is the core cause of the problem scribed. Wendell
Turntable sound bad Redo you cartridge setup or have somebody who knows how to do it. What you describe is normally caused by a misaligned cartridge. Good luck.
Denon 3910 playing DVD-Audio is video blocked? Since you have the micro why don't you just try it?
Looking for a few suggestions... You can have the plinth cut to accept the dual motor assembly.
Denon 3910 playing DVD-Audio is video blocked? I connected mine to monitor for the initial setup and put it in my two channel system. I agree any video content on a DVD-A should appear on screen.
Denon 3910 playing DVD-Audio is video blocked? I use that player but only in a two channel system. The DVD-A and SACD playback are quite good. For CD I use it as a transport feeding a MSB Link III. I can't answer you question as I've never used it for video. The only drawback is needed a video...
Why the difference? I owned the Micromega when it was current. Wonderful performer. Horrible reliability. I had three of them and all had problems. Enjoy it while it lasts.
VPI HW-19 Original Motor Turnoff Pop Good advice. I'll try that first.
VPI HW-19 Original Motor Turnoff Pop The toggle switch cured the turnoff transient? That's all you did? Sounds like an easy fix.
Long IC Cable Run 16 feet is not that long and any good quality shielded cable will do the job. If your components are truly balanced then balanced cables are the way to go though I doubt you will here any difference between single-ended and balanced, with single-e...
Has anyone tried refinishing your speakers..... For a speaker of that quality I would consider a professional refinisher because I don't trust my capabilties in this area. A good refinisher can do an amazing job including make them look brand new and completely like the original.
I just heard an SACD for the first time - damn Not only not taking off but just about dead except for some of the smaller audiophile labels. Was your CD a separate disc or the CD layer of the SACD? In most cases the CD layer is inferior. If you listen to enough titles you will find that, in ma...
Vandersteen 2CE or 1C for small room? Can you set up the room on a diaganol? 10x10 rooms are tough. This setup has the potential to give you the best sound. I would recommend the 1C in this situation.
Can I RENT a record cleaning machine? I remember stores that would clean for a fee. That was a long time ago. You don't have to spend $1000. A new VPI 16.5 can be had for under $500 and even less when bought used. If you have more than 100 records it is a worthwhile investment. |
