Dear Lew, If there was something wrong with lateral balance orshape by FR-64 Raul would of course mention this many timesinstead of ''damping problem''.  I made a considerable profit onhis recommended MM carts because those increased in priceas re...
Curved and Straight Tonearms
helomech, The Germans have this curious opinion: ''if theory andpractice coincide than both are probably false''. I own the  FR-64 designed by Ikeda san but also Ikeda 345 . Both have the same'S' shape but the later is without the lateral weight. ...
Curved and Straight Tonearms
The J and S shape tonearms (need to) use the so called ''lateralbalance'' weight in order to get equal pressure on both horizontalbearings. The J kind is difficult to balance while the S can bebalanced by lifting up the front side of the TT and th...

Dear chakster, you divided my (former)  post in different issuesor questions. You last question was about headshell wire. Butyou also questioned my preference for Bullet and WBT (RCA)connectors  and put your own opinion about ''the best one'' asXh...
Vintage DIN phono cables, any good?
Dear Chakster, I needed some time to answer your last question.Curious but true the most frustrating ''part'' in our system chainare those damn ''tags'' or ''pins''. Consider those expensive tonearms(Reed,Triplanar, etc) with fast headshells and wo...

Dear chakster, It is a question of preference while we also needto save on something or other. So I use, for example, Bullet RCAinstead of WBT (grin). Thanks to my brother Don (Griffiths) I can get those Signal cables with discount and use for bot...

Dear chakster, There is some truth in the old Roman confusionbetween the truth and the autority. Aristoteles still rule in somesocial ''sciences'' with his autority. Well as Rauls best studentyou should be sensitive for his argument. You of course...
Vintage DIN phono cables, any good?
Dear chakster, I meant corrosion of the copper wire but assumethat everyone changed those old RCA connectors(grin). I alsostated ''with some exception'' by tonearm producers who madetheir own phono-cables. For example Ikeda produced silver cablewh...
