Fidelity Research FR-64 vs. FR-54
Dear chakster, Some try to explain the ''magnetic failure'' byweakening of the magnets. In particular the lack of the VTFprecision. However Raul recommends the usual VTF adjustmentwith counter weights. As a ''bonus'' this way the weight(s) getnear...
Fidelity Research FR-64 vs. FR-54
Dear chakster, You should write to my brother Don and askwhere his Lustre is rewired. He got my Lustre 801 as present butthe (silver) wire was broken in one of the channels. He is very happywith the result and prefer the Lustre above his Graham 2 ...
Fidelity Research FR-64 vs. FR-54
The German HIFI Magazine ''Das Ohr'' (the ear) was the only oneby which two reviewers commented on the same component. The FR-64 S was reviewed in April 1984. BTW ''our Dertonarm''was back then one of the (music) reviewers while his best friendRenn...
Fidelity Research FR-64 vs. FR-54
Dear Lew, whatever the context we have our own preferences. J.Carr mentioned in the same post that Ikeda 345 is his best arm.Even Ikeda and his mechanics agreed that the 345 is their best.I own the 345 but prefer my FR-64 S.

Help Identify This Cartridge?
I am, alas, not clairvoyant like Dover so I would need some ''realpictures'' of this species for a reasonable guess. You have probably never listed any cart on eBay? Pictures are more important than(any) description. The reason is simple: pictures...

Hi Charlie, I would like to extend my ''welcome'' to Ikeda 9,the cantileverless kind. My first impression is that this cart isat least as good as FR-7fz which I consider as the best fromthe 7 series. To me this means ''the best ever''. The proviso...

The Palladian-A step beyond
Dear Chris, I am already ''screwed'' by the moderators and youthreaten me  also with  those ''free screws''. I expected moresupport from my former compatriote. BTW I got yesterday anemail from Dertonarm but he deed, alas,  not mentioned those''fre...

Dear thuchan, The 'art of teasing' is unknown in Mexico so youare wasting your time. To assume that Raul would ever buyanything designed by Dertonarm is like assuming that Trump willjoin IS or get statue in Mexico.
Who needs a MM cartridge type when we have MC?
Van den Hul never produced any stylus. But he deed design 3kinds for Gyger and ''obviously'' stipulated by contract the right to sell them under his own brand name. However we have never heard about Van den Hul I, II and S while Gygers are so mark...
Adding mass to a tonearm
Agree with bdp 24. Probably contra-intuitive but moving the counterweight nearer to the pivot decreses the arm mass. Adding weight to the headshell on the other side ''obviously''increases the arm mass.
Who needs a MM cartridge type when we have MC?
Hi chakster, The Azzura is ordered by Glanz but there is no reference to any Glanz model. However I own the manual provided by my Glanz 31 L. According to which the most versionshave the same generator. That is to say that the only difference isth...
Who needs a MM cartridge type when we have MC?
Dear Fleib, ''It's interesting to compare properties of the variouscantilevers now available''. J. Carr was talking in general aboutproperties relevant for the cantilevers. I.e. about advantages anddisadvantages of different mateials. In this cont...
