Dear Dcbingamm, I am really glad to hear that at leastsomething on those FR fx arms is superior as opposed tothe FR-64/66s tonearms. But who is buying an tonearm because of the headshell?

Dear Dover, I know that your country produces some verygood wine but my question was put in the other thread:the MM thread. BTW the 'heavy Orsonic' is 16g .
Who needs a MM cartridge type when we have MC?
Dear Lew, If my kitchen scale as well as my math arereliable then: 22-6 = 16g. I ever bought two of those MIT Icarts and am more surprised by the cart weight (6g) thenthe Orsonic's.

The old FR headshells are worthless. I am stunned that somemembers recommend them. Everything else is better. I am alsostunned by the performance of the FR-7fz cart. Unbelievablecart but I have no idea why in the sense of technical reasons. This c...

Which Orsonic are you talking about? To my knowledge thereare 3 kinds. For some strange reason they all have the samename: AV 101. But all 3 have different weight, strenght and construction. I own the heaviest kind and am, like Dover, very satisfy...

The Dutch collectievly deny any sense for humour to theGermans. But I myself very much enjoyed this German one:"If theory and practice coincide then both are probably false'. That is why I read Lew's and Fleib's (theoretical)post very carefull. Bo...
EMT JSD 5 or JSD 6?
Ninetynine, The old Fritz Gyger established Gyger companyin Bern , Switzerland. Styli production was a small partof the company with questioanable profits. But he asked Vanden Hul to design a modern stylus for his company. Van denHul designed firs...
EMT JSD 5 or JSD 6?
The styli difference. The so called Gyger kinds (GygerI,II and S) are the same as the so called Van den Hul styli. The case is that Van den Hul designed all Gyger styli.Reto Andreoli (Magic Diamond) is the only one, as far as I know, who criticize...

Abrew19, Well the saying is: ''One man's meal is anotherman's poison''. My way out is to read the last page exceptwhen I want to check one of those carts of the month.
High End cartridges and the built quality
All producers get those cantilever/styli combo's from theirsuppliers. This means that quolity controll is questionableon both sides.
Solid core phono interconnect - Recommend Please
Make your own. Buy 4 of those Eichmann Bullet Plugs , 1m(double)silver wire and solder the (RCA) connectors. Myaunt Natalija can do this job so why not you?
High end cartridge made in USA?
I am so old that I even remember the questions like : 'isthe German mathematics better than Russian or American?'Not to mention the physical science. At present I am gladto see when anything is better made as in Germany. Well I am 100% sure that J...
Which headshell to use?
My favourite is the Sumiko magnesium (13 g) with wire andmovable connector for the azimuth and extension. About40 GBP on ebay. uk. From the 'exotic kind' I prefer theheavier Orsonic (AV -101). From the 'professional kind'the Arche. The one which B...
Lyra Delos vs EMT TSD 15
Dear Syntax, I had no idea that I prefer 'dull, slow andanemic sound'. Thanks for the info. But you have obviously no idea how the new EMT 'fine line' sounds. Besides it is a German product , German traitor!
EMT direct drive and Technics SP-10 opinions?
Hi Steve, I am alas not sure if Thuchan is still memberof our forum but well that he owns everything of importancethat EMT ever produced. As far as I know at least 3 turntables. He is a very nice guy and my suggestion is to consult him via our mem...
