Thinking About Upgrading The Tonearm On My Rega P5...
The Audiomods tonearms are significantly better than the lower level Rega tonearms (RB200, 202, 300, 303, 700, 808), and on par (though different sounding) with the RB1000-not sure about the newer RB2000. The difference between an RB700 and an Aud...

Turntable mat for Rega Planar 25
I had a P25 and used the Way Excellent Mat by Herbies Audio to good effect.

New cart for under 1K
I too recommend the Denon DL-S1; it is a wonderful cartridge. Because of its extremely low output you have to have a really fine phono stage.
phono stage with two inputs
If you can find a used Musical Fidelity kW phono it has two completely separate stages, one each for Low Output Moving Coil cartridges and one for Moving Magnet cartridges. It's dead quite and highly thought of.
What is the Phono stage you have finished with?
Musical Fidelity kW Phono-very flexible, built like a tank, quite, clean and open sound-what's not to like-
new cart 600.00 and under
I second the recommendation of the Denon Dl-S1; if you have a phono stage that can handle its low output, there are few, if any, cartridges in the sub $1500 range that can compete with it.
What tonearm to replace Satisfy on Performance SE?
I just put an Audiomods arm on my Rega P7-the difference is astounding-I don't even have it dialed in yet, but it is already a significant step above the RB700. Highly recommended.
Which is better Rega Planar P9 vs RP8
The RP8 is a replacement to the P7 not the P9; I believe that Rega will be bringing out an RP10 to replace the P9.
Rega Apheta - Phono stage
You will need a phono stage that will let you load the Apheta at 100 Ohms or lower. I understand that the Apheta really sings when loaded at 50 Ohms. I would look for a used one right here on Audiogon.
VPI HW 16,5 vs. Okki Nokki
I also have an Okki Nokki-really looked into both the machines and went with the Okki Nokki because I felt that it did a better job cleaning my vinyl than the VPI-both are very fine machines. BTW the Okki Nokki is much quieter than the VPI-this do...
Rega P7 vs TecnoDec with TechnoArm or ?
The Rega P7 is a fantastic table-I do believe that Rega is coming out with a new replacement table for the P7 so I would guess that you can pick one up with a significant price reduction.
Cartridge Upgrade for Rega P-25 Table
Yes, it is a difficult descision-the important to remember is that whatever you get will provide you with thousands of hours of enjoyment, so you need to be comfortable with your purchase. Enjoy the chase!
Rega P5 Hum
Don't know what to tell you-but there must be something wrong with your P5-I've owned several Rega tables over the years, none of them came with a ground wire, and none of them had any hum whatsoever. You don't by any chance have a Grado cartridge...
