Speaker spike feet?
geoffkait, I wasn't sure for a fact that they are rubber but they look and feel like firm black rubber. So I looked back at the schematic Micheal Kelly sent me and it does say rubber there.

jeff, I honestly can't say I noticed a big difference.Right now, making this sort of subjective assessment is very hard. I'm one who agrees that a lot of things affect my ability to judge music quality from what mood I happen to be in to which mod...

geoffkait said:"Besides, all I was asking for in the example you provided is EVIDENCE. That doesn’t seem too much to ask. 😬 I’m not demanding PROOF. "Okay, change my question to you asking for "EVIDENCE". The result is the same. You ask for eviden...

frozentundra, I could have made them narrower, and still could, but I felt them pop through the carpet mat so I think they're fine.

This stand has rubber(?) cones that compress between the stand and the speaker. These were OEM from Aerial Acoustics. The stainless I used is from a grade 8 bolt which in the world of steel is fairly soft but still way harder than aluminum, etc. An...

geoffkait, when I said that you were always asking for proof you said:Can you show me an example of what you’re referring to? So I scrolled up a few posts where you said, and I quote:Finally, do you have ANY evidence to support either of those sta...

I am going to pass on it. I made spikes for my speakers, the stands were already there, and I feel like I’ve got them positioned well and to my untrained ear this system now sounds incredible. Tonight I played newly purchased remastered CD version...

Sort of. I made them out of grade 8 bolts. It is a triple allow stainless steel and it is very strong. Each one was hand made and shaped precisely as I wanted it to be.....so I'm sticking with "specifically tuned". It just rings true in the audioph...

So, geoffkait, you're always asking for people who disagree with you to supply some sort of proof to support their opinions. But you're dismissing blinded studies. And I can't remember but I think you're not in the measure-bater camp either. So if we...
When your hearing is not very good......
So, the next question is what max volume will you guys expose yourselves to when listening. I know that my system can easily get to a volume that can damage your hearing in fairly short order. It would seem ironic to damage my hearing listening to...

Done. Total cost $8.00 plus 1 hour of work in the shop. There is a picture below. I could feel when they ’popped’ through the carpet mat into the hardwood.Special triple alloy composition. Extremely high tensile strength. Precisely tuned for this ...

wyoboy, I appreciate your perspective on subjective evaluations. I think the key here is that when it all comes down to it, it does not matter. That is not to say this or that tweak doesn’t matter, it is to say that if whatever tweak makes a diffe...

I am going to make my own this afternoon. I'll use stainless steel which is what the original ones were. This way I'll be able to fine tune each one myself. ;-)

There is something wrong. It is the junky phono pre-amp. Remember, the TT sounded fine when I ran it through the Onkyo home theater unit and when I ran the turn table through my 40 year old reciever.Better pre-amp is on the way.
