Passive intergrated Amps RR,Check out the Acurus DIA-100 and 150. They can be had for very good prices and are good bang for the buck. They ARE integrated with a passive pre.Happy Listening!John
low cost integrated amp for newbie Ann,A used Acurus DIA-100 is hard to beat. I saw one on the site here for $325. (new was $1000+) One of the audio magazines said it was the best $1000 you could spend on audio. I had one and it served its purpose well during it's time.Yes, there a...
Crossover needed for subwoofers, or not? Check out the Paradigm x-30 crossover. For that little amount of $$$, try it and see which way sounds the best. (it did nice things taking the low end load off the main speakers AND the amps)It's pretty much a no brainer. Good luck!
Help: crossover for Thiels and Velodyne sub? Hi AK,I'd recommend the Paradigm X-30 active crossover. I think there's one here for sale for $110. It's pretty much a no-brainer to use and can't be beat for the money.Anybody else agree or disagree? Good Listening!
Which is better lateral or vertical bi-amping? Chazz,Listen to your system both ways and see which sounds the best. I'm assuming both amps are identical from your comments.
Why does one need two Paradigm X-overs? Chazzbo,The x-30,used as a single unit, "sums" the low end for a mono signal only. So if you want "stereo" subs, you have to use two x-30's. One for the left channel sub and one for the right. Good luck and happy listening!

Some Tips on UPS claims Have the item shipped FROM you, and TO you. (use the sellers address but your name) That way if there is a claim, you don't have to depend on the performance of the shipper to get the claim settled.
Tyer Acoustics Monitors and SET amp, how are they? Ake,I've been using my 300b 8w monoblocks on the Linnbrook monitors and they sound wonderful! Not as loud as I'd like to go on rock or BIG symphony music, but for jazz, etc they play plenty loud. And my room is 15' x 24'.If you are located close t...
recommend a simple but hi-quality active pre-amp? Budget is $1000 +/- and for the same money, I'd rather have higher quality than a remote....but of course, BOTH would be nice! Thanks!
Is the Sony SCD-C333ES multichannel? It is not multi-channel. Multi SACD's will play on either 2-channel or multi players. 2 channel Sacd's will play on either, but only 2-channel. Good luck
Am I being fair? Paul,You did nothing wrong and if the communication is as you say it is, (1) they'd have NO reason to post a negative and (2) IMO - according to audiogons guidelines, there is nothing that would support a negative post.Ask them if they are familia...
