Magnepan .7 Alternatives
I used Maggie SMGs, MMGs and the 1.7s over a 40 year period. I was one of those Magneplaner devotees. BTW, as several have said, they integrate beautifully with REL subs. I down-sized to a smaller home 2 years ago. My previous listening room was...
Where did you buy your first audio gear?
@fertguy Where in KC did you buy your system? While in high school...1st system 1972 at an electronics store called "Henshaws", a place that sold stereo and CB radios, I got a Dual 1218 with a Shure cartridge, Technics receiver and Jensen 3 way s...
Is this a audioquest cable counterfeit fake?
I am in Industrial printing, which includes packaging. The industry, like most others has been hit with supply line shortages. Packaging materials taken for granted for years/decades are suddenly unavailable for the forseeable future. Package pro...
Does dose anyone see these speakers in real?
The thread title is indeed odd @Roxy54... and so is the article's title "Most expensive 5 million dollar speaker". I wonder what the least expensive 5 million dollar speaker looks like?
What are songs where people or instruments sound closer to you?
@CuriousJim That’s where streaming comes in so handy...being able to sample an album before buying physical media. My copy of "Dad Loves His Work" is a MoFi Superdisk CD. Sadly, I’m not that wild about most of the tracks on it, except "Her Town t...

Grover Washington Jr’s "Winelight" album: 1. Winelight 2. Let it Flow Both of those tracks have percussion and subtle acoustic guitar all over the place...great imaging. I have the original release and the Nautilus Super Disk versions on vinyl....
B.S. Node 2i brick (yet another one)
My BS Node 2i has been running continuously since December 2019. Haven't hit the alleged, infamous 3 year mark, but so far it's been great!
Whats on your turntable tonight?
https://pin.it/2Xi4Yls Got a fairly rare, Japanese Steely Dan compilation from Discogs. Not bad, but I feel it was visually graded and not play-tested, as it’s very noisy. Making me think about more serious cleaning tools.
Mood lighting for listening
I've got room treatment, fabric covered pillers in the corners behind the stand mounts. On the pillers, the "now playing" album cover holder on one side and a sputnik lamp with very low wattage bulbs on the other. It's dark enough to reduce visual...
Which component to upgrade 1st ?
Interesting! I wonder how a streamer can make your ears hurt.
Bang & Olufsen beolab 90 $115,000 Pair
These were released on B&O’s 90th anniversary in 2015. Don’t know why your article from 2022 sounds like they were just released. https://www.stereophile.com/content/bang-olufsen-beolab-90-loudspeaker
Which pair of speakers changed your Hifi life?
In 1981 I gave my 3-way Jensons to a girlfriend and bought Maggie SMG's and a Nakamichi 530 to drive them. They were the most natural sounding speakers I'd ever heard and kept me happy for ten years...until I built a house with a very large living...
cheapest cable upgrade ever
Also, use Sith Audio’s audiophile AAA batteries for the best definition and imaging.
The new LSA Signature 50 Monitor "Disruptive Product"
For what it's worth, here is Steve G's take on them:
Best streamer for a returning audio guy
No need to get worked up....there are several members who get their jollies from being condescending and judgemental while missing the whole point of the question. I gotta throw in my vote for the Bluesound Node. If you want to go used, the Node...
