Do You Ever Find Yourself Unable to Listen To Your System?
Sorry to hear about your troubles! Others have offered advice on how they deal with things and really, most of it is pretty good. However just b/c you can’t sit and listen as you’d like, doesn’t mean you have to be deprived of the solace that musi...
Need a DAC Recommendation.
I'm pretty happy with this: https://borderpatrol.net/DAC.htmI upgraded from a Jolida Glass and never looked back. It will only take one input but I only use it for my Node2i. Warm, nice soundstage and looks to be well built.Happy listening!
Do any of you kids , want your system ???
TL:DR... Long sad tale ahead. Pop passed 20 years ago and left me his system: VPI, Jadis, B&W Matrix 800s and a few hundred LPs and CDs. Unfortunately my dear mother refused to let it go. I went from WA to FL four times at her bidding to "com...
Flipping record causing series of loud pops
Wow, seriously folks? The OP asks a legit question and you respond with "noob" and "rookie" and smartass comments? How churlish... And if he doesn't have a mute switch, no matter: Temporarily switch to a source with no signal to save wear on the v...
Stratospheric audio gear prices
I think that audio is somewhat like automobiles in some ways. To wit: I'll likely never buy a piece of high end kit brand new again. I'll let the original owner take the depreciation hit much like buying a new car and watching as the thing depreci...
Any audiophiles into motorcycles
I could list them all out, but I think this'll be easier...https://sites.google.com/site/mothergooz/motorbikesHappy listening!
Make way for the future....
Seems to me a nice solution for the urban apartment dweller who can't have a large floor standing system/speakers. Come home, hit the on button and music. Not my cuppa but not everything has to be, eh? Happy Listening.
transistor pre with the sound of tubes
@rird... A suggestion: You can find many tube preamps for quite reasonable money on the Bay of E. Everything from kilobuck examples down to a couple hundred bones. You really can't go wrong with something from ARC. I would stay away from the cheap...
Audeze vs. HIFIMan vs. ??
@big_greg thank you so very much for the comparisons! I hadn't thought of the Focals. I'll take a look.Happy listening.
Audeze vs. HIFIMan vs. ??
@fuzztone you raise a good point. This isn't for portable use. I have a beyerdynamic A20 headphone amp currently but may upgrade eventually.
3 Ingredients to a Healthy Audio Community
Thank you @daveman2. Nicely said...Happy listening.
6.5 vs 8 vs 10 woofer
Why the ad hominem attacks on the OP? He's stating an opinion and adding in his personal experiences to support thoughts on the matter. If you wish to refute it, fine but I don't believe there's any reason for name calling. The churlish remarks do...
Got a Node 2i, what's next?
IMHO, I wouldn't limit yourself to balanced outputs. I think for this application it's not going to make THAT significant a difference. For one thing, when you connected your Node to your preamp, you were using unbalanced RCA interconnects anyways...
What’s your obstacles on the way of listening
We live on a pretty quiet street. No through traffic. I never listen in the mornings as I prefer quiet starts to the day. But the afternoons? Lawnmowers, big jets sometimes (We live under one of the flight paths for Paine Field) and sometimes the ...
Preamp making loud pitched morse code sound
I recently had an experience where I had a wifi router too close to my system. Everything was okay (CD and streamer) but when I turned on my phono pre-preamp, Conrad-Johnson Premier 6, it would pick up RFI from the router that sounded like the ali...
