Stand mount to floor stand.
I'd also say you should expect rather different presentations and although I may have preferred the R3 years ago, I'm sure probably in the Cremona M camp these days after many years of various audio pleasures. If you can try them out easily, why ...
How does a REL subwoofer add dimensionality and depth to a sound system?
How does a REL subwoofer add dimensionality and depth to a sound system? Wow, the OP’s original question was pretty quickly forgotten. I hope this does not turn out to be a thread for REL haters and owners, but some seem itchin’ for a fight. I’m...
How does a REL subwoofer add dimensionality and depth to a sound system?
I'm no expert but I do have two RELs and my 'selling' demo was listening to 'Fields of Gold' by Eva Cassidy with the sales guy gone and me turning it on and off. There is no bass on the track, per se, but with a good REL engaged the sense of the r...
Where do you put your money?
I think this is an interesting topic and shows how we all value parts of the audio reproduction chain. Many will chuckle and disagree with my apportionment but I’ll merely say listen, and challenge most anyone dollar for dollar to do better for t...
Using SUBWOOFERS internal crossover...
I need some help here on the concept of ‘Y’ ing out the signal to two different devices. I have tried to Y out from the pre-amp to the left input of a DSPeaker unit as well as to the two left subs. Then I ran the Y out from the preamp to the rig...
Nobsound springs - load range
I disagree, this time-rare, with mc.  There's nothing wrong with looking for the best starting point via applied science, at least not IMHO. Others can try one hundred permutations and and individual audible testing if they so choose. The key is g...
Nobsound springs - load range
All the calculations are a waste of time. @hr9001 's comments below were the things I was attempting to get to as a starting point. He has made the point well. And ears get to be the ultimate 'tuners'.  Thanks.-----------------   11-28-2021...
Nobsound springs - load range
My point on 'constant force' should have been 'constant additional force' for movement of a constant size, additionally.  With a constant rate spring the additional force (or weight) from (equidistant positions) position 3-4 should be the same as...
Nobsound springs - load range
@hm9001, I think we agree but that I did not state it clearly enough. If a single spring has a 4kg rate per 4cm, then from the resting point of a 1kg wt at 1cm, it would take another 1kg of weight to depress 1 more cm additional. It's what I have ...
Nobsound springs - load range
The Rate I calculated for @hm9000 was right at 20lb/inch of travel for the spring measured. Based on your specs, @ryder I calculate about 12.6lbs per one inch travel for the Rate of Compression. As I understand it, so long as you are in the trav...
Nobsound springs - load range
I am a total beginner here. I only use three under components and I pick where they go for stability and ignore the existing feet. I took the feet off all my subs and only use three nobs for them as well. So far as springs go, since this essentia...
Thoughts on having 2 different sized subs in same room
I'd sure add it and try to keep the crossover very low on both to avoid localization. I think 80Hz is for the birds...and tiny little main speakers. Yours are not tiny. Good luck; I think it can be integrated.
Listening to music I don’t particularly like
I will sometimes gravitate to music that is recorded so well that although it might not be my first choice it is very enjoyable anyway. I still listen to all of my old music though including those atrocious 80s CDs not replaced and my old LPs as w...
The volume of my speakers going down by itself and going back again in a minute or two
Sure sounds like the electronics need checked out to me as well. Good luck with them and hope repairs are reasonable. Probably worth keeping!
Finally Learned: Subs serve much larger role than adding more low bass
Always forget:  first real experience in 'hearing' what a sub does without noticeable bass music was listening to Eva Cassidy's version of "Fields of Gold" a nice REL in the room. Turning the sub from off to on simply opened up the space Eva sang ...
