James Randi vs. Anjou Pear - once and for all
And on my system, every cable, regardless of price, will sound no better, and almost all worse than what I have, short thin ribbon SCs. There is no blind test necessary. Loud discordant distortion is easy to verify. That is because the ones I have...
Willie Nelson, the star who wasn't supposed to be
He made no bones about smoking the weed.

Yes to all the above. This being the Holly Jolly season, don't forget to get Willie's Christmas album.
Efficiency of speakers?
Meaning the driver can push and recover quicker, and without fatigue. More deep level signal can be heard that way.
Efficiency of speakers?
I have the most dismally sensitive speakers around. I have never heard anything faster.
Stereophile Article - Holt telling it like it is.
My music selections are based on desire when it comes to new fare. I look for re-mastered old fare. The Christmas music I have tell the story. Some discs containing old favorites, like Bing Crosby, are simply atrocious sounding. There is a re-mast...
What made you select "audio" as your hobby
Walking into a listening room and hearing the Apogee Scintilla for the first time. That was an unforgettable experience.

Ditto Audiofeil. Mrtennis and friends, go out to the audio shows and feel the difference. My own Scintillas give me all the real satisfaction I need. They need to do that, because I will settle for nothing less.

All right let's stop pointing fingers at my age group. Bush and I are not peas in a pod. I don't know what Holt listened to in his time. I know, during his heyday, of a system that really did sound like the real thing. Only trouble was, it cost mo...
