Class-D amps - a different re view
Hear hear, Ar_t you have spoke no truer words.
Are passive preamps better?
I disagree with all the passive preamp folks. Saying things like, "It will be quieter," is not always true. My Fire preamp is black background as any passive, arguably more.
James Randi vs. Anjou Pear - once and for all
present and counted forMy DIY "nudibranchs" are a last stop. Any audiophile should be able to recognize that listening to the music.
"The Death of High Fidelity"
Shadorne, I hear you. Most of my music is R&B jazz. There is no issue with their discs. They tend to be older CDs. Some are recent, like Lucas Niggli and Syvie Courvoisier, sound great. Their disc starts with plucked piano strings that with gr...
"The Death of High Fidelity"
I just bought a James Blunt CD, while at the same time, a remastered Doors CD. The Doors CD was exciting, dynamic, and musical. The new James Blunt was flat, and two dimensional, products of being compressed. I doubt I will play that boring CD aga...

Vman71, I will look forward to your report. Thanks for the interest. Write me if you need any detailing.

Mrtennis, If you lived nearby I could entertain you with how horrible Cardas Golden Reference is, or the much touted Jenna series for instance. You would have to be here. My gear is so clear sounding, noises going missed in other systems will star...

Brizonbiovizier,I have proven on my system expensive cables are a joke. They all vary on how much they roll off or cloud the signal. More expensive cables generally do the most harm. Most people never notice the dielectric foaming of the signal, b...

MrTennis, I like your steadfast ways. I can honestly say I could happily share a glass of your favorite with you listening to either of our systems.A toast to you!
Willie Nelson, the star who wasn't supposed to be
Hey everyone, listen up when Duanegoosen makes a music selection suggestion. This guy knows his music!
How international is your system?
Every piece of my equipment was made in America, except for the DAC which was made in England.

Tbg, I knew there was someone making ribbon SCs. It is convergent evolution. There was a reason why I used Saran wrap. It touches the copper only in a few places, being very baggy. I knew that was important due to listening tests. The wide ribbon,...
James Randi vs. Anjou Pear - once and for all
Hi Shadorne, you just have to hear what I got. When I was using big expensive conventional amps, dielectric noise must have been there, only I could not hear it. That is because all conventional amps I have ever heard contribute too much noise the...

I had a choke fit reading this quote from Mrtennis"in my opinion the sound of the early 70's is superior to what is available today. back then, there were great electrostatic speakers, tube amps and preamps and no digital."I really don't know what...

Drubin, Do you really think I can sell cables with Saran Wrap, or bubble wrap insulation? My ribbon SCs are featured at my system page. There are two companies that already sell ribbon connectors, and SCs. I have monos, which I turned around backwa...
