Binding Post Jumpers - New Product!!!
@nonoise What are you impressions of the DH Labs jumpers?  I'm looking for a set of jumpers.
Dynamic compression in speakers themselves?
Well, then this brings up the question as to which speaker manufacturers are known for employing the best quality electronic components such as capacitors, resisters, etc.?  Only interested in big, floor standing speakers here.  Yes, I want the bi...
Can cables of any cost and quality provide bass response missing in my B&W speakers?
compass,Douglas Connection Furez are very nice copper cables.  In addition to my Cerious Tecnnology Graphene Extreme cables, I have a set of Douglas Connection Alpha 12 AWG OCC Speaker Cables with Furutech rhodium connectors, which retail for ~$1,...
Dude, where's my bass? Oh, lost to stiffened rubber surrounds...who knew?
Congrats on the resurrection!  As to the cables, don't bother and don't waste your money.   Cable is cable./s   Just wanted to get that out there before anybody else! Actually, I stand by my recommendation in your other thread in Cables.
Dynamic compression in speakers themselves?
@johnk Interesting.  I generally am drawn to big speakers with big woofers, for the same reasons you articulate, lol.  My current, quite large, Legacy Audio Signature II speakers are from the 1990's, but still sound decent at moderate levels.  It'...
New system has fatiguing, harsh high frequency sounds. How to fix?
@ kosstFor a high fi novitiate such as myself, could you give some examples of high bias class A solid state amps?
Dynamic compression in speakers themselves?
Thanks, very interesting!
Moving on from Parasound A21 (maybe?)
professor,Lol, I've measured the top of my Krell at over 130 degress!  BTW, back in the day as a kid, my uncle had a cabin in Indian River, MI.  It was just gorgeous there in the summer.  We got to visit there a couple times and fish on Burt Lake ...
Moving on from Parasound A21 (maybe?)
@ professorsvsuI doubt the Pass 250.8 will run any hotter than my Krell FPB 400cx, and it hasn't really been a problem, and I live in East TX!  Yes, the summers are hot as blue blazes, but the room is fairly big and the heat dissipates.  I kind of...
Dedicated Phono Cables required??
These come highly recommended at their price point; I’ve been thinking of picking up the DIN version myself when I get around to replacing my phono cable.  I also want to check out the Cardas cables that Boxer12 mentioned. http://audiosensibility....
amp (or receiver) recommendation for Polk Audio RTi A7 floorstanding speakers
For a power amp, I'd suggest for consideration a nice used McCormack DNA-1 Deluxe if you can find one in great condition.  Sometimes they can be had for ~$700.   150 watts per channel.  A great and versatile pre-amp(which I'm very interested in) i...
New system has fatiguing, harsh high frequency sounds. How to fix?
@ kosst_amojanI agree with all you said in the last post.  Just thought your first post was a bit harsh, could have been a bit diplomatic about it.  I can understand why a person new to audio might like the idea of two sets of speakers.  Heck, we ...
New system has fatiguing, harsh high frequency sounds. How to fix?
@ kosst_amojanNo offense to you, but I don’t see how the OP could NOT be offended by your dismissive comment.
amp (or receiver) recommendation for Polk Audio RTi A7 floorstanding speakers
In my experience, and from my limited understanding of all things audio, the "smooth, sweet, soft, silky treble" you are looking for doesn't come cheap.  I would add shimmery, airy cymbals as another goal, at least for me. I'm not convinced that ...
New system has fatiguing, harsh high frequency sounds. How to fix?
Well, although I’m not generally a fan of Sony receivers, my guess is that a harshness as significant as you describe is not likely to be because of the Sony. That said, I have generally liked the sound of my Onkyo and Denon receivers. These new r...
