Negative feedback Amp=more faithful reproduction? You're having some difficulty 'getting it'. It's not a 'type of sound'. I have a ten watt push/pull tube amp feeding 95db fostex single driver speakers. I've owned many different combinations over my life (60 this year). It took me until about two...
Vintage TT - looking to add one - recommendations? I really like my Mitsubishi LT-30.
AXPONA anyone? Thanks Raks. Like buying audio equipment isn't a gamble? ^)
Negative feedback Amp=more faithful reproduction? Adjustable NFB is a great way to prove individual preference, not a technical absolute. You used the phrase 'more realistic sound'. To you. We're engaged (yet again) in a thread of trying to prove others to be less knowledgable, savvy and just dow...
WHAT'S MY RBH SOUND MT5 SPEAKERS WORTH Just put them out at the curb, someone will take them off your hands.
Cables more hype than value? Rok2id, it's only a matter of time before you'll have to refuse membership applications to this 'exclusive' posse because of excessive numbers and management of 'fringe' members. ;)
Cables more hype than value? I'm glad to be an unofficial member of Rok2id's posse. He often makes more sense from a larger picture of audio and the search for symmetry with the human psyche. Plus, he exhibits a sense of humor often missing here. People can be deadly serious ...
Sophia Electric Baby - upgraded capacitors Enjoy! I'm really happy with mine.
Interconnects between table and phono stage The amount of needed shielding seems somewhat dependent on the cart. MC more shielding, MM less so. My cables are essentially unshielded but have two twisted conductors for RFI rejection. I have a separate ground wire, the cart is a Grado Sonata.
Speaker finish? Gadzooks is right! Can you imagine how they might have sounded set up in the back of a white van? Actually, they didn't sound bad in his home, just not as terrific as they do in my home.
Speaker finish? Before I got my Cain & Cain Abbys, my wife and I listened to them at my dealer's home (a single wide mobile home). She says 'they're way too big'. In that room, of course they were. They showed up as a demo anyway. Now, my room is 17 deep X 35...
Surge protection, have you tried? 57- I don't know that answer.
Surge protection, have you tried? Yes there is substantial sound degradation. If you need surge protection with the least degradation I suggest Brickwall. The fact that they don't use MOVs also is a plus. There were times I thought my system sounded better through the Brickwall. O...
O.C.D. Speaker placement She'll get my chair when she pries it from my cold dead ass. 8^)
O.C.D. Speaker placement Newbie and Rok2id. I have to have my speakers about 13ft apart because of a built-in fireplace and bookshelves on both sides. I've moved my speakers every direction available to me. I now have them crossing in front of my listening position. I als... |
