rca plugs - comparisons?
one of the furutech rca connectors does not require solder, which introduces another set of comparisons. imagine if one could avoid solder altogether.it would seem obvious, e.g., that the eichmann silver and copper bullet plugs would have differen...

CDP Recommendations under $700
if you can't audition cd players, try to use some parts criteria, e.g., tube vs solid state, brand of capacitors, dac chip, etc. and ease of resale.if you can create criteria, use them to select a cd player. you will not need to rely on opinions.o...
CD has laid back and uninvolving sound
since all "vinyl systems" do not sound alike, it is misleading to generalize differences between vinyl and digital.simply change the cartridge and the "sound" of an lp will change significantly. there are also audible differences between dac/xport...
rca plugs - comparisons?
i suggest, constructing or having a technician construct two or three pair of inexpensive cables using 3 different pairs of connectors.a small investment and your ears, will begin to answer the question.you will , perhaps, want to determine the qu...
How to connect two amps with one source?
i do not mean an internal y connection.consider a preamp with multiple inputs and outputs.in the same way, consider a digital source with more than one output. you would have two sets of analog outs, the same way a preamp can have two sets of main...
How to connect two amps with one source?
i suggest a simple mod to the dac, which will create a second pair of analog out females.i have often thought that digital designers furnish dacs and/or cd players with 2 sets of analog out connectors.tsuch an approach would solve your problem.

i spoke to wendell. he will not talk. i called the show in vegas. the representative told me he heard the speaker in minnesota, in a darkened room. he would not tell me what it was.i guess we will need to wait until after ces.
Smooth treble
the context for "smooth" is touch. such a term does not apply to sound. it is a word along with others that has been applied to a phenomenon to which it is totally inappropriate.the closest analogy to smooth, as in continuous texture, e.g., glass ...
High End jargon; your take
ok i will chime in:hifi=the sound audiophiles like so much or close to inaccurate, as in high fidelity , as opposed to low fidelity. i am a literalist with respect to this termwarm=a slight peak in the upper bass or perhaps lower midrange, combine...

The best amp for $2k tube, solid state or hybrid
the value of suggestions should be tested.consider this thread. suggestions for an amplifier costing up to $2000 have been elicited.consider two lists. the first contains the names and manufacturers of 10 amplifiers., based upon the advice of post...
$ 2500 ....Stay with Vandersteens ??...what else ?
onstead of asking for advice, why not audition as many products you can afford ? your ears will tell you if there is an improvemnt in sound relative to what you own now.
CDP Recommendations under $700
i suggest you listen to as many players within the $500 to $700 range you can. why ask for suggestions when you have yours ears as the definitive arbiter ?
