Would a pair of Klipsch R-41M demand to much of an Onkyo R-805X?
An amplifier generally puts out more power into 4 ohms, and since the Onkyo is measured at 4 ohms, the impedance of the Klipsch will not be a problem. However, the Onkyo will likely have less power into the Klipsch, which should still be fine. Dep...
I need some techy help in order a preamp--resistor values.
I am using a Luminous Audio Walker Mod Axiom II, and I feel it is invisible...meaning, I do not hear it. It works well with every source I have, as well as all of my amplifiers in my collection. If additional gain is not needed, passive is the way...
Anyone heard Schiit's Aegir?
wolf, r u passive biamping the Heresy III's, with 2 of the amps ?

Something For The Fuse Guys ...
Frank, so what you are saying, if I am understanding correctly; you, as the listener, have moved back a few rows from the stage, and you are still hearing finer details in the musicianship......I would say that is pretty impressive.
Something For The Fuse Guys ...
I have always bypassed the speaker protection fuses on amplifiers, with the exact same response quoted by that P.S.Audio guy, as I do not remember his name. Why should I ?,  because he does not know how anything works. Kidding, of course, about no...
Which stereo amp to try under $30k
I need to ask the obvious question. What do you feel you are not getting from your Mc 452 ? And as part of this same question...What do you want more of, less of ? Your Mc actually fits your " guidance ", but admittedly, I do feel there is better....
Forte 1A or Threshold 400A
400 A ...but did you contact Steve McCormack about replacing your boards, and upgrading other aspects of the design....very musical....I know it is too late ( as you sold it ), but, am interested to know. I ask, because, I was in the same situatio...
Something For The Fuse Guys ...
Not everyone can hear a fuse difference, nor, have never even tried it. So the few who troll the idea, as there will always be those few, we fuse guys, just need to move on, and try extracting every last bit of detail through our systems.....It is...
Warm Class D for horns?
I realize I spoke of non class D amplifiers. But if warmth is what you are looking for, with horns, I stick with my recommendations, and agree with wolf.
To those running Klipsch Forte IIIs...
jbhiller....you were offended, and I am sorry for that. I am a somewhat educated guy. When I read a statement such as yours, saying " before I move on ", I take it to mean one thing, and one thing only. So, say what you want. If you are able to si...
Warm Class D for horns?
I have used 100’s of ss amps on my horns, and the warmer of these amps, have been the designs using mosfets, specifically, those using the original Hitachi devices. They sound nice on my horns. Hafler, Soundcraftsmen and some others available, use...
Something For The Fuse Guys ...
Oregonpapa. I need to apologize, as my post of the fuse / amplifier problem, might have put a damper, on your 1st, and most wonderful, thread. Never intended for that to happen, as it became realized, when I wanted to do another fuse upgrade. So, ...
$40,000: What 2-channel system would you build?
tweak1, that 28K includes the matching preamp. And, there are absolute reasons in using mono blocks. Did Ric say he could add a 2nd power cable to the EVS 1200, to truly utilize the superiority of mono blocking ?, or was that someone else. Having ...
To those running Klipsch Forte IIIs...
If anyone is familiar with me, and my posts, I will remind everyone here, that given the price points, and the easy and inexpensive way many Klipsch models can be improved upon, they are more musical, and enjoyable, to most anything else out there...
