What is the standard for judging a systems sound?
As I mentioned previously on another thread, a system must be able to convey Rhythm, beat and tempo. This is the ability to follow each and every musician, solo and as a whole(Thank you Ivor). System tonality, spatial perspective, dynamics, noise ...
best recordings for a sense of scale
If I am to understand this thread, we are to recommend a recording which can show off your system. I recommend : Flim & the BB's "This is a Recording". I would say beyond the music being excellent, this has it all.
Klipsch LaScallas vs Klipsch Cornwalls?
It is interesting and refreshing to here someone (other than myself) talk about a speaker that has speed, dynamic prowess, resolution and scale. These are all attributes of live music. I also put emphasis on rhythm, beat and tempo, (similar to spe...
Klipsch LaScallas vs Klipsch Cornwalls?
A 15 x 22 room would be fine for Lascalas or Cornwalls(from lots of experience). If an image cannot be created some placement trial and error (both speakers and listening seat), room treatment, and associated equipment would help. As far as a 14 x...
Klipsch LaScallas vs Klipsch Cornwalls?
I have owned both as well. I presently own Lascalas. However I have done much work to them to get them to "disappear". (You can visit the thread Why Not Horns). Have you listened to either of these in lenght, in a room your size, with electronics ...

Why not horns?

Mapman, after reading another post of yours(why not horns), I want to say that the Klipsch Lascala(with my cabinet mods to eliminate any box ringing,as stated by another), is so close to doing so many wonderful things that conveys the true essence...

Mapman, I could not have said it better......
To all tube lovers.......
My question is this. This speaker you may purchase, have you listened to it and with what associated electronics ? What does the manufacturer recommend ? Also, what size room do you have and what listening levels do you listen at. The previous pos...
Why not horns?
Why can't we all accept that 'we like what we like'. Many of us have been around the block and have much experience in listening to many different kinds of systems. There are those that have not. I have never said that everyone needs to go out a b...

While all you guys have been posting, my feet have been tapping....
Amazing ''Overachieving'' products...your pick?
I think Noel Lee's original Monster Cable and Steve McCormack's Mod Squad tip toes are two products that started the trend in tweaks, which we all know, as audiophiles, can really take a system to new heights.
