Integrated amp question.....around $1000..could use some help!
I’ve heard a few of the amps on your list in various incarnations. Seems like you want a neutral, analytical sound more than euphonic so I’d say cross the Primare and Creek off your list. Musical Fidelity, too - but not cause it's warm rather than...
ATC SCM20, Wow what sound..
Except there’s also the "SCM20" from the home classic series with the detachable baffle: http://atcloudspeakers.co.uk/hi-fi/loudspeakers/classic-series/scm20/I’m not clear how the 19/20/Pro can be voiced much differently if the crossover point is ...
What is the best way to tame a slightly bright speaker?
Toeing out sounds fine. Not to harp on this, but simple attenuation is the right solution. Looking at the crossover, a resistor change looks extremely easy to do cause it appears accessible from the base and detachable with screws. https://static1...

I think it was Steve Gutenberg who recommended a 50:33:17 speaker:amp:dac cost ratio. What if you do something more like 70:20:10? Will you get better SQ out of a more balanced "Gutenberg distribution", given a fixed budget?I think it's more to ...
Most well rounded LS3/5A-inspired speaker?
I’ve seen the innards of an LS3/5a and that kit doesn’t resemble the complicated crossover of the LS3/5a at all. The crossover in an LS3/5a resembles a small amplifier. Read the write-up; it uses different drivers entirely (but tries to stick to...

A small floorstander might do the trick too, but so far none have piqued my interest. Any suggestions? -- Living Voice Auditorium sounds to me like your perfect speaker, but they’re way above your budget new http://www.borderpatrol.net/livingvoic...
Kimber 4TC vs 8TC
I don't know your gear but for me, 4TC sounded better than 8TC, which was not at all worth the extra.
Anyone tried Benchmark cables?
Yes, it's just bulk Canare cable.
any speakers using all Scanspeak Classic drivers?
Troels Gravesen has a 3-way-classic design based on Scanspeak Classic drivers http://www.troelsgravesen.dk/ScanSpeak-3WC-C.htm
Opinion - Every audiophile should build at least 1 pair of speakers
I'd love to build my own speakers but the big hurdles for me are woodworking and design software and measurement tools. These things run thousands from scratch, no?
Most well rounded LS3/5A-inspired speaker?
Speaker designer Jeff Bagby has a modern design called the Continuums based on LS3/5A format. It's available fully assembled from Salk http://www.salksound.com/model.php?model=Bagby%20Continuum or DIY kit from https://meniscusaudio.com/product/con...
Speakers for a small room
Just thought of a niche speaker that should mate excellently with your Pass amp cause they're always demo'd with low power tubes - the Living Voice Auditorium series. So musical. 94db sensitivity. Thinking like the OBX-RW and down the range. https...

Oh hey! I have the SCM20SL Pros and P1, almost identical. P2 is the same amp topology as the P1 just more power. I think the P1 drives the SCM19/20 pretty perfectly as is. I’d get a sub, but probably one with built-in eq, like a JL Audio Fathom. T...
Speakers for a small room
No ATCs (not even the SCM7) will give their best with only 30w behind them. You'd want something closer to 90db sensitivity, I'd think. Maybe a slim floorstander would suit. I'd go to take your amp to some dealers and listen to various things with...
Speakers with the most detailed midrange? (non-ESL/planar)
Gonna also endorse a 3 way. ATC SCM50 would be on my shortlist, for the legendary SM75 midrange driver. Spendy, though.
