Speaker cable for focal scala utopia There are so many cable options out there, that it is tough to say anything other than that "I have used these and I like them." That being said, I have Focal Diablo Utopia III's and like the way Morrow Audio MA7 speaker wire sounds with them! I ...
What Are Your Reference Discs? or Specific Reference Tracks Although I have several "go to" test tracks for new equipment, the following are at the top of my list:Patricia Barber Companion XRCD - "Use Me". Terrific live recording with excellent stand-up bass intro, and some Hammond organ highs that will sh...
Upscale Audio and Primaluna I have a PrimaLuna Dialogue Premier HP amp. Couldn’t be happier with it. Sounds great and takes any hassle of tubes out . . . No biasing, can switch between triode and pentode modes, with the stock tubes is 75wpc and two in mono pumps out 170wpc...
Is $2,844 too much to pay for a fuse? I didn’t realize that the fuses were red and black. No wonder they eliminate "bottleneck distortion!" The black absorbs all light and therefore gathers photons. The red color reflects other photons. the push-pull of absorbing and reflecting photon...
Is $2,844 too much to pay for a fuse? You fuse, you lose!I would definitely pay $2,844 for a fuse . . . If Jimmy Page or Robert Plant came to install it and play Stairway to Heaven or In My Time Of Dying to enhance the soundstage!
Why Do So Many Audiophiles Reject Blind Testing Of Audio Components? Sorry, but blind testing, if set up so that you can switch between two components or wires, may not be the "be all and end all" of what sounds better, but it is close, since you can immediately listen to each component and see if you can hear a di...
Favorite cable brand. +1 for Morrow. I use MA5 for both speakers and interconnects and in my system, sounds perfect. I prefer them over Cardas Golden Cross for speaker wire and MIT 3.3 shotguns. They just have a detailed yet mellow sound to my ears.
I have been on the hunt for the best turntable I can buy. Any suggestions? @stereo5, off- topic, but wow, you brought back some memories. I grew up in Framingham and Natural Sound was where I bought my first "real" stereo, back when I was in high school in '75, which I think was a Harmon/Kardon receiver and Electrovoice...
Surge protectors and power conditioners - Good idea or bad? I live in Miami Beach. I live in a newer house (2015). We get lightning and storms all the time in the summer and a lightning strike blew my preamp and I had to send it in for repairs. I then put a whole house surge protector in at the breaker ...
REL subwoofer questions, Storm III and/or Stadium II Slightly off topic, but how do the old Stadiums/Storm/Strata’s compare to the much newer and higher power REL subs for music? Those are 10+ years old.
Best speaker cable for Focal Sopra 3 YMMV, but I am using Morrow SP6 speaker cables with my Focal Diablo Utopia III's and I like the way the speakers sound with them over the MIT S.3's that I was using. . .
Tube virgin looking for tube amp under $3k +1 on the PrimaLuna DiaLogue Premier HP, which is just the amp. Runs beautifully with my Focal Diablo Utopia III's, for a tube move, like I am, it is no-hassle. auto biasing, lights to show if there is a failing tube, 70W per channel in Pentode ...
Newbie Can't Decide Which Tube Amp I own the PrimaLuna Dialogue Premier HP with the stock tubes. I use it with Focal Diablo Utopia III's. I really like it, it is hassle-free, sounds great, and can switch from Pentode to triode mode with a remote. 75wpc with the stock tubes. I hig...
What is the best audiophile speaker for a tiny square room? my dedicated music room is a pretty reflective cube, 11x11x11. with a carpeted floor, no treatment. I have two different systems that work great in that room. First is my PrimaLuna DiaLogue HP (75 watts of tube power with the stock tubes) poweri...
DAC Choices - $5,000 to $7,000 I highly recommend the MSB Analog DAC with the separate power supply. Pricey when new, probably in your price range now, used. I use it with the updated Renderer 2 module. Sounds great, and handles DSD and MQA, and with the volume control, I no ... |
