Sutherland 20/20 Experience & Thoughts Not really sure if this phono stage ever made it to the market. There was a lot of hype when it was announced but after that nothing was heard of it ever again.
Totem "Fire" Element series monitors I have to concur the REFERENCE 3A is a very good speaker. But I do not doubt that the Totem Audio speaker are great as well. The Mani-2 sig is the best monitor I have ever heard.
Phono Pre-amp with XLR While I do think that true balanced phono amps are a good thing. This because with MC the signal is very low and you can use all the help you can get in amplifying the signal with getting increasing the noise level. However making a balanced amp i...
VPI Scout and Lyra I have a Lyra Dorian in my VPI Scout. I think it is a good combo. IMHO the Dorian the Dorian is much better then a Glider or Ace in combo with a VPI Scout.
Integrated Amplifiers with neutral sound NreneterThat would be a list of most tube integrated amps.
Integrated Amplifiers with neutral sound I own a Symphonic Line La Musica amp. Now I have to say this makes me a bit biased but I really think you should put Symphonic Line on your list.
Phono Pre-amp with XLR Depending on your budget you should have a look at either Blue amp or the BMC phono amps. Both brands are non tube though. As far as I know both of these brands make true balanced phono amps. Many brands do give the option of XLR in/out but often ...
Biamping: Emotiva, W4S, Parasound or ..? Why do you want to bi-amp? Do you think your current amp is not sufficent? Do you expect better sound quality when bi-amping. To me personally using multiple amps only makes sense in an active system. I have spoken with some speaker manufacturers ...
A bit overwhelmed, need preamp advice Maybe not the answer you were looking for. But why not sell the Bryston and buy a good integrated amp? I think it is an audiophile thing to think that pre + power is always better then a integrated amp. But i personally think that when you are not...
Amp for JBL 250 Ti To be honest my experience with mcintosh amps is not that good. I heard them at shows a couple of times and one time I visited someone who had a pair of mac mono blocks. They all sounded warm and veiled to me. A bit like older tube amps. The audio...
Why 24/7 warm-up period on amps? I turn my amp on about 30 minues before I start to listen an when I finisch listening I turn my amp of. Any amp that breaks down because you turn it on or of is designed wrong.
The wrong speaker for the room ? If you go to an audio, go with friends. Have a beer or two. visit some brand/distributors talk to people in the business but DO NOT expect a great sound. Audio shows are more of a social gathering then it is about the audio itself.
Best lines in a song All my words are secondhand andUseless in the face of thisRationale and rhyme and reasonPale beside a single kissAnd I've heard so many things IFail to understand at allI'd settle anytime forUnknown footsteps in the hall outside
Obscure companies making excellent speakers? I have recently bought a pair of Master One speakers. Master is a Dutch company that build wonderfull speakers. Not really sure if they are even sold out side of the Netherlands but when you have the option please give them some listen. There is r...
Monitor suggestions Maybe to late, but the Totem mani-2 sig is the best monitor I have ever heard. I compared them to Tannoy DC8 T and Usher Dancer 2. Now I know these 2 are not monitor speakers but the Totem beat them easily. |
