What frustrates you the most about seller’s for sale ads?
My speakers I just bought were a solid 7. Guy scratched them right before he shipped on the damn face!!!!! I would consider It a 6 now although overall they look really nice. Wow pissed me off. Got a couple hundred off but would trade that to not ...
Wilson Alexx V
Why all the a..hol# comments. The guy is asking about some new speakers coming out that I’m assuming he may be interested in. I’m sure they probably sound pretty damn outstanding as they should for a luxury product. Jealousy? I can’t afford them e...
First HIFI system
Do you have a budget you need to stick to specifically? I see those speakers on Amazon for 995 and the Marantz at 699. If budget is close to 2k I think your money will go much further buying used equipment.
Holo Audio May DAC
“It's made in China I think (or could be Taiwan?, and yes, I am very well aware that these are two very different countries. ;))”The very different countries statement would be answered very differently depending on if you asked a Chinese or Taiwa...
Most rooms don’t need acoustical treatment.
I dont think "normal" rooms have 4 inch thick bass traps in the corners which DOES help tremendously if you value great non boom bass. Other stuff is great as well, one of the least snake oil things in this hobby which there is plenty of.
Upgrade from Rogue Audio Sphinx v2
I had the Sphinx V1 for a short while. Never really gelled with it it. I hooked it up via its pre out to a very old Odyssey Stratos and it sounded night and day better! Like no comparison. Made it sound anemic. I think for a grand or so you could ...
A DAC that ought to be better known: RME
If you do a little digging the RME is pretty well known as a standout at its price point and somewhat above. Gets mention quite often. I’ve had mine a few months. Very impressed with it! Not sure how you are using it but I would highly recommend t...

Bingo equipment age for sure! Some products like my recent A21 have been out 15+ years. Obviously one 2 years old is going to be much more wanted than a 10+ year one. When they don't mention the age I tend to assume it's old.

You wouldn’t happen to have a blue 88 Volvo Wagon and live in West Mi would you?

I think it’s very well understood how a car works.
If you don't have a wide sweet spot, are you really an audiophile?
With my Pioneer S-1ex I can move them further away and wider apart for a wider sweet spot. Out into the room and closer together and sounds like wearing high end head phones but the sweet spot narrows considerably. I prefer the latter.
Should I sell my Oppo 205?
I dont think there is gonna be demand for old tech as it changes every year. I would say unless your in love with it dump if can still get a descent price.
A Hidden "Feature" of the Cornwall IV
Man would love to hear some properly setup 4s. Anyone in West to Central Mi willing to do a demo please let me know. I love the look and that they are US made.
DAC/w Volume control + Power amp or DAC + Integrated?
Another recent convert here for DAC direct to power amp. I much prefer it at least with my RME. In the past with and old Wyred 4 Sound I didn't really care for it but I dont think at the time I got into the sweet spot on the volume without getting...
Streaming vs ripped music
Most of what I’ve read about Amazon HD has been pretty positive. Maybe I’ll give Qobuz a try with the 30 day trial and definitely look into the filter and better cable. Do any of you guys use a mesh network like the Google? Is that a bad idea? Oth...
