Sub-$1250 DAC w/ built-in Headphone Amp
The black ice dac above is a really great smooth dynamic unit. Not sure about mqa or quality of its headphone amp. Actually thinking about picking another one up as a 2nd dac.

Ahh I see you need MQA which the RME does not currently support.
Sub-$1250 DAC w/ built-in Headphone Amp
Only heard the RME which I have and it’s very very good. The awesome EQ and features I believe makes it a big extra advantage over the others. One of the few pieces I’ve bought new over the years and felt I got more than I paid for.
Can anyone tell me about VERITY AUDIO PARSIFAL
What kinds of music do you mostly listen to? I have not heard them but from the description sounds like they may not be the most dynamic things out there. When they are described as  "I'd say if they were dressed they'd wear a tuxedo" sounds like ...
Recommendations for a modestly-priced audio system?
Not sure if you have mentioned yet but is used a possibility?
Chord DACs .. who has moved across to them from R-2R based DACs ?
@PaulCreed,What kind of improvements did you see adding the Teddy LPS to the RME? I am considering one of these or one from small green computer which are a little cheaper.Did you do any back to back testing of the power supplies? Thanks
Looking Party speaker
Jbl party box looks pretty good for your application.
Class D for a Tube Lover
IME class d does not like difficult loads. If you have semi efficient speakers with a fairly benign impedance curve will sound good especially with a tube preamp. I had the Lyngdorf integrated and it was an amazing product....... for certain speak...
How loud are you typically listening?
The volume difference really is massive between the 2. A weighted 90 db is freaking LOUD. Measured C rated not so much. Is one considered a standard way to measure in a home stereo application?
How loud are you typically listening?
So are most of you measuring C weighted or A weighted. I notice Db-a is the default on the app I am using. When I switch it to C there is a 12-15 difference in the decibels with C being higher. What would be the standard way to measure? If it’s C ...
Dream Speakers = landed. Now I need to feed them!
Cayin A100T on USA audio mart asking 1200. HELL of a lot of great watts for the money. Also with the sensitivity of your Klipsch you want something quiet and the one I had was dead quiet. Check it out. Could offer a grand and see if they bite.
2 Ohm Tekton Pendragons
Is anyone else making a 2ohm nominal speaker? Just saying, never heard of one. I would ask Eric what amps he would recommend with these if interested. Seems like an odd design choice but I'm no techie when it comes to this stuff.
Move on from my Bryston BDA-1?
There are really good youtube videos showing all the "ins and outs" of the RME. I found after about an hour watching those going through the steps with the RME sitting on my desk I think I have it all figured out. Not too bad at all.
Looking for a DAC under 2k
RME ADI-2. Great sound, great display and very flexible. Someone mentioned the Jolida tube Dac. Very musical. That’s a really good one as well. Well under a thousand.
Ready, set, comment! Speaker cables don’t make a difference?
My experience is most good quality O2 free cables pretty much sound the same. Popular high end brand lower priced lines take things away by varying impedance or whatever they do. Lower line sounds very detailed but has not very good bass. Medium l...
