Klipsch Forte ii too bright, or is it my room ? I had chorus 2s for a minute. They would rip your head off without judicious use of EQ at anything approaching loud volumes. I did like them for some old rock and metal(with judicious EQ). They were fast and impactful for sure. Great kick in the g...
High end high quality int. amp for low level listening Wow just did my spl meter in my phone. 60 db is really pretty low volume. On the cheap you could try a Schiit Loki.
High end high quality int. amp for low level listening I don’t think more power is going to do much for you at 60db listening levels. Now tone controls or dsp will do wonders at low levels. Even low sensitivity considered I have to believe your pathos is just loafing along at 60db.
Referent point do you have a wide band with dynamics, sparking highs, punch in the chest that can fill a room? Just wondering? Never heard a wide band speaker. It makes sense no crossover would be an asset but I think there must be a reason few do that.
Buying used: Parasound A21 or A21+ ? No not mine. Mine says a21 3 years old in the title.

Marantz PM Ki Ruby and RME ADI 2 (Am I crazy?) There are some really good YouTube videos of the RME functionality. I was able to grasp that easier than the manual. Not too bad once you start messing with it.
Demos - To Charge a Fee or to Not Charge a Fee? I would pay 50 an hour to demo. I’m sure there are many looky lous who have no intention of buying new which I am one of. I don’t normally demo it but I am always gonna buy used. So for that demo on what I’m buying I would pay fitty.
Marantz PM Ki Ruby and RME ADI 2 (Am I crazy?) “@mofojo sorry but can you please elaborate? I’m not very technical. I’ve left the reference volume on auto (-5db). The volume on the rme is around -25db to -40db. Am I doing something wrong? Thanks again for your help!”The RME volume is digital. ...
Integrated / speaker pairings in the $6-7K range In this price range I really think you are getting a huge step up buying used equipment. Right now I have a pair of Focal 836w and a Micromega M100 integrated all in one. It’s just stupid good for the money in a medium room. I have just over 2k in...
Marantz PM Ki Ruby and RME ADI 2 (Am I crazy?) Assuming you can get the volume on the RME up to where you are not bit stripping it will be the least amount of any colorations possible. RME recommends running the DAC directly into power amp.
Integrated / speaker pairings in the $6-7K range So is it new only?
Micromega M100 vs Coda CSib, vs Pass ? vs I’m really starting to appreciate the Micromega with the Focals, just a great synergy. I like it with the Pioneers as well but am kinda dumbfounded I may be liking the much cheaper Focals more. Sounds like the Krell is something I should definitel...
Micromega M100 vs Coda CSib, vs Pass ? vs AX-5 is in the range. Is the AX-5 twenty worth the additional cost?
Micromega M100 vs Coda CSib, vs Pass ? vs I’m adding Ayre to the list to consider as well. Everything I read about them is just excellent. |
