anybody compare Dynaudio Special 40's/Heritage Specials/Confidence 20's?
6k would be a pretty good-ish deal. 2k I’ll drive across the country and buy those sum beaches! 😜
New Focal Aria Evo line
@audiotroy ,   they may make them different but doesn’t necessarily make it an improvement. They just voice it slightly or very differently. For my taste the chorus W line is mo betta than the Aria. I’ve owned both and much prefer the older Ws.
Borresen Loudspeakers
Nice. I’m in Fruitport, work out of Grand Haven. If you were willing I’d love to hear them when you get them sorted out!
Borresen Loudspeakers
I for one would love to hear the X3. West Mi here. Off chance anyone in the area has a pair I’d bring a nice bottle of wine for an hour demo. 😃
how many ways to hook up a subwoofer
Thanks Ozzy
how many ways to hook up a subwoofer
@ozzy , would you mind mentioning the model number of the Jensen ISOMAX? I have a vintage system and that might be a good option for me, thinking of adding a sub to it.   thanks
Good Speakers for Rock and Roll Under 15K
Guess I’m saying the Pioneers didn’t show a mid bass dipping the graphs but they sure as hell didn’t have any rhythm in that arena. The Focals rock out with the best of them IMO of course using many different amplifiers and front ends.

Can you measure dynamics and punch of a speaker? I have no idea. I pretty much just know what a flat frequency response looks like on a graph and know that 5 out of 5 will all sound different with similar responses IME. My Tad S-1Ex sucked with m...
Recommendations on integrated amps
IMO Musical Fidelity sounds really good for the money and uses prices are great. Could maybe get into an M6si for $1500 or something a little older for sure A300, A1008 etc. lots of power and detail but really smooth.

@atmasphere  “@gregjacob Its actually a myth that a speaker can be good for one genre of music (rock) and not another.”   I could not disagree more..
Time, Wear, and Technological Evolution
IMO your really nice Focals would walk all over the Ls50s for rock and metal especially. If you make a change I would definitely keep them till you try out the new stuff. 20 years on speakers in my experience is not a big deal at all. I’ve had spe...
What was the first power cable that you noticed a difference in the sound?
Been running a Synergistic research cord for around 3 weeks now on my Lyngdorf 3400. Didn’t expect to hear any difference especially since Lyngdorf says their amps are impervious to cords. I absolutely hear a difference. It sounds bigger and more ...
Good Speakers for Rock and Roll Under 15K
Tektons are the bomb for rock / metal. Dynamic like a horn but smoother than most horns. They are fast and have great mid bass as well which is key for rock.
KEF LS50 Wireless vs Alternatives
Of the Dyns vs KEFs I’ve had I would agree the Dyns will be waay fuller sounding than the KEFs and have a way stronger mid bass but not as much detail overall.    I don’t know for sure but guessing the Wireless2 will be probably better but more o...
Should I steer clear of class D amps
My Lyngdorf 3400 is the only class D I’ve ever liked. It’s kinda class D I guess, more like a power DAC. Anyway it’s very natural sounding without the lower treble glare I’ve heard with every other Class D amp I’ve had. Granted it’s also the most ...
