best match for Macintosh MC352
Theo, actually APPLE makes computers and the Macintosh is a model/brand within that company. Also Macintosh is a variety of an apple, (like Red Delicious or Granny Smith) so maybe that's where the name came from?
ARC XLR pin s question
On the digital side, I have an ARC CDT-1 transport that has all (4) digital outputs: coax (via BNC), toslink, ATT/ST glass fiber and AES/EBU. I have found that no matter what DAC I have connected that the AES/EBU sounds the best. I have also read ...
ARC XLR pin s question
I have owned lots and lots of ARC gear, (and still own several pieces). I have always used the XLR, (balanced) inputs and outputs when available. I have never had to order any "special" configuration of balanced cables. I would assume that ARC use...
HELP I need information about interconnects
A true preamp will not have "speaker outputs" on it. It sounds like maybe you are trying to use an integrated amp as a preamp? Unless this has preout/main-in jumpers or a seperate set of preouts, (usually RCA jacks), you won't be able to use it. Y...

Primaluna tube amps...
I've listened to several PrimaLuna products and find all of them to be excellent in build quality and top notch performers for the price. I also agree with Albert's comment about Kevin Deal. I have had many dealings with Kevin through the years an...

How much difference does a phono stage make?
The PH3 has a FIXED gain of 54db, you can't change it. You can change both input impedance and input capacitance by changing the resistor and capacitor inside.Your cartridge at 2.5mv, will work fine with the 54db of gain of the PH3.
Been listening to The Beatles ...
I have finally gotten through listening to the entire STEREO reissues, (I don't have the MONO Boxset). I find them just wonderful. Much better than any other CD reissue I have heard. Yes, they are not quite up to the best of the vinyl, (which I ha...
No preamp 'Balance' control?
Balance control? What's a balance control? I can't remember the last preamp I owned that had a balance control. I agree on the dual volume controls...what a pain.
