Condition of speakers
Lindisfarne...it really depends on the stands you are using. Some of them use smaller spikes that face up. Kinda hard to not mark up the bottom of the speaker using such stands.I was in the high-end business for 25 years, so I've seen LOTS of this...
Condition of speakers
I think it's almost impossible to use stand mounted speakers, (on stands) without marring the bottoms a little. I agree it should have been disclosed in the ad, but it wouldn't be a deal breaker for me unless they had very deep gouges and/or sever...
Richard and Linda
I have several different versions of this LP. My favorite by a small margin is on the Wax Cathedral label followed by my West German import copy.
Magtech Amplifier
Carl...you might want to give Roger a call or email. Mine never ran hot to the touch and I was driving Martin Logan CLSIIA's and Maggie 3.6's. Mine was well ventilated.

4musica...Klyne Audio Arts is still alive and kickin'. They just don't advertise much nor summit samples for review, but is still an excellent company.
Are different stereo amp models in same system ok?
"Must I use the same amp model for a 2nd amp?"Yes, unless you are going to use an outboard crossover, which would have volume (level) controls to match the output of two different amps.http://www.audiokarma.org/forums/showthread.php?t=458761

Charge for TT setup?
IMHO, the setup should be included in the price of a $6K table. I would have never charged you for this back when I had my stores.OTOH, what's an extra $100 when you are spending six grand?
Remarkable New Vintage Audio Store in Austin, TX
Cool! What a great store. Reminds me of my first store that I owned which was a Team Electronics store back in the late 70's to early 80's.Thanks for the link, (btw, the link doesn't work). Here is the correct link:http://soundgalleryaustin.com/
Best cartridge to reduce hum under $400 USD
The Grado cartridges are a moving iron design and have always been notorious for hum problems with turntables/tonearms that have less than ideal shielding of the motor. This has been well documented. I was a Grado dealer for many, many years and k...
5AR4/GZ34 Rectifier Tubes
Iso...nice catch on your part also! Wig is indeed thinking of the Bad Boys since he was using VT231s which are a 6SN7 substitute. I can't believe I missed that. I actually have several pairs of Sylvania Bad Boys. Great tube btw...
5AR4/GZ34 Rectifier Tubes
A little clarification. The "Bugle Boy" was a series of tubes that were made by Amperex. There was no company named Bugle Boy.http://vintagetubeservices.com/page9.html
Cleaning Multiple records at once recipe...
I find it very hard to believe that the labels don't get trashed? I've even seen this on RCMs if the user isn't careful with applying the fluid. Thanks anyway, but I'll stick with my VPI...BTW, did you get help from the Cascade Kitchen Counselor? :...
new kiko sound quality
I have it and find it to be pretty much excellent. Very good dynamics and just a little bit of surface noise, but overall well done. Here is Fremer's take on it:http://www.analogplanet.com/content/los-loboss-ikikoi-makes-its-180g-vinyl-debut
