Review: DCM TimeWindow 1 Speaker Only $135,000 a pair. I agree about the drivers' technology being better now. Also, the attachment of the drivers on the DCM's drive(pun?) me nuts. Some drivers can be tightened. One of the four bass units is glued in.
Review: DCM TimeWindow 1 Speaker After listening to Wilson Alexandria's, I wonder about the accuracy of DCM Windows. Oneobgyn was gracious enough to let me hear them. One song, The Pretender's, "Private Lies(?), sounded like a completely different song on the DCM's. Although it s...
The best CD Player for the money I have to mention that the highs in my APL 3910 have no grain whatsoever. I would say that they are close to state of the art. I do want to mention here that Oritek Audio's Zhaolu mod(under $400 for the whole enchilada) is a DAC that compares favo...
Disconnecting speaker while power amp on - any dan I believe that I blew a Classe amp when a speaker cable became disconnected from it.
I'm thinking that youngsters are getting burned . Kthomas, I have a cd called, "Listen Picks", where they claim they have listened to all the music on the Web, and these are the songs that they like best. I'm guessing they are all compressed. Guess what, they sound horrible, compared to cd's. I k...
APL NWO2.5 ? Thanks guys for the advice. Let me point out that Alex's CDr of his previous Gyrodec/Denon 103R(?) versus Rockport/Zanden killed it. Now, I was unfamiliar with both recordings, but it seemed that the Rockport CDr had almost a line drawn across the...
APL NWO2.5 ? Forgive my brain-lock here. I have my APL 3910 going into a preamp, also. If one were to connect the 3910 directly, how would one still use his analog? Maybe I need to contact the Rockport gentleman, since he has the APL NWO 2.5, and likes the dir...
APL Esoteric X-01 Actually, Chungted, I was afraid of the conclusion you came to with your APL NWO-2.5, because I suspected that was the case. My analog is just not competitive with my digital. I hope to rectify this in the future, so I can listen to the 2,500 lp's...
APL NWO2.5 ? Audiosu, I'm kind-of in the same boat as you. While I certainly believe in the source first, my speakers are from 1980, and they have one woofer that is just glued in, and inconsistent fasteners for the rest of the woofers and tweeters. It is this...
APL NWO2.5 ? I just thought of something tonight. When I first listened to Alex's system, I told Alex that I got unusually high from it, and that it lasted about an hour. At home, I was listening to analog only, and my system didn't affect me that way. I asked...
The best CD Player for the money Boy, were getting some great stuff here! I know this off the subject, but I 'de like to answer Audiofeil(or at least take a look at this subject). I think that long-term satisfaction takes precedent over comparisons. Actually, the question is, "Do...
When is digital going to get the soul of music? Cdwallace, sorry, I lost me also. Can I thank those people that mentioned that cd has been getting better(If I go to find their names, I usually lose my "response"). That advice has helped me tremendously! Maybe we should take note of their names,...
APL NWO2.5 ? Guidocorona, not having money may be a blessing in disguise! Look for the opportunities that it presents to you.
Review: DCM TimeWindow 1 Speaker I have to repeat this. The Time-Windows sound better wilthout a cloth covering. This was determined over 20 years ago.
Review: DCM TimeWindow 1 Speaker I don't know if I've stated this. I have my Time Windows about 18 inches from the back wall. They sit on a maple board, but I would suggest that is the minimum distance from the back wall-period. |
