The Psychology of Constant (Equipment) Change
this is PC that I was told costs over $1K new!!! Can't say I am shocked.  The shield is interesting though.  I have never seen so little material on a shield.  Looks like about a 20% shield, with two of the small wires connected to the iec - th...
The Psychology of Constant (Equipment) Change
@audio_is_subjective64 - I think you mostly nailed it with your first answer, FOMO, Fear of Missing Out. Although some buy for the variety, or for real sonic upgrades, audiophiles are conditioned by audio equipment marketing that is based on the n...

Also nice to have the ability to make playlists.

@jbuhl - great point and list! You asked what other features you might be missing so, I don’t believe I saw anything about how your system can continue playing the genre of music you were just listening to, after your specific selections have fin...

It’s nice not having a monthly fee. A small win, until I think about Tidal, Qobuz, internet, television, Sirius, etc. etc.   I used to think $30 a month for cable tv was a lot! 🤔
The time has come and I request advice...
@ghdprentice  There is a question of how long it will take… but the time will not be measured in decades but likely a few years. Any thoughts on what that might look like?  Would Roon be likely to migrate users to a new platform in order to ma...
Rigid outlets for Heavy cables
@jea48  I appreciate the effort but no, I didn't buy one. In addition to looking "funky" as Eric described it, it also looked heavy.  If you have $100, you can still purchase the Sonore Power Cord Support or the Shunyata - Cable Cradle Wall Plat...
Rigid outlets for Heavy cables
@bigwave1  I had looked at the John Bring interview with TAS and S’phile show report, but apparently John’s his 3D printer is out of business because the website goes nowhere. @erik_squires  Nice 90-degree plug but unfortunately I own too many ...
Rigid outlets for Heavy cables
Nice work Eric! I have used them and they work well. Now find me a simple plastic outlet cover with a cradle to support heavy power cords, that doesn’t cost a stupid $100, like this one or this one.
Whats playing on your system today?

Moving into an apartment with wood joist floors - worried about neighbors hearing
The Townshend stuff should work or, you could try the platinum silicone hemispherical isolation pads from Hudson HiFi available in many sizes on Amazon.  Don't be fooled by the low cost.
Giving Advice without recommending your own equipment
People are substituting recommendations from internet forums for the visits we used to make to our favorite audio equipment dealers where we could actually hear stuff. The problem is that, considering the level of individual care invested in the s...
DAC Help : Please Weight In - Down to 5
Have you heard any/all of them or tried any in your own system? Do you own the YGA Carmel 2 speakers you discussed in another post. Those have low’ish efficiency and probably need some power to push. These choices are so subjective and also can be...
Low Gain or Unity Gain Solid State Preamp
@mstrshikadance  You might consider asking Arek if he could adjust the active stage in your Khozmo to unity gain.  He was able to make a gain adjustment on the Hattor BigPreamp that he built for me.  In addition to that, I use a Khozmo passive in...
Roon Endpoint Streamers - Direct Comparisons between Current Offerings?
Thank you @ianderson for your post that directly compares some of the options I am considering.  I have a SGC i9 G3 on its way here so will start there on the server side along with my current Signature Rendu SE optical as the endpoint, which I b...
