Talk but not walk? Nope, didn't change speakers. The speakers I had at the time were rated for 90dB at 2.83V and seemed well-suited to both amps. The small (and pretty well-known) class D amps were rated at 400 wpc into 8 ohms.
Talk but not walk? I like these forums because I learn something every time I visit. I actually did some walking a couple of years ago and tried lighter, smaller (i.e., more hip), Class D amplifiers by that guy from Belgium but alas I had to return to my old school...
why do people feel the need to buy expensive cable @d2girls And theres the other half of me that says to just stick with what I've got...Look at it this way, if you don't "save" $2,500 by spending $2,500 on $5,000 speaker cables, what would you spend the $2,500 on? My guess, probably something ...
Talk but not walk? Oops.....another disappearing act.Audiogon needs a "thread of deleted posts" thread. Some of the best stuff would be in there.
Talk but not walk? kosst, please, don't hold back. Honesty is the best policy. Tell us what you really think.
Talk but not walk? Geoff, don't let your motivation to answer the mystery of the Mpingo disc filling become derailed by the current turbulence. If not #1, then my second guess is #4 for the reasons stated below.
Talk but not walk? This is great. Battle of the footers. Today's card includes APs, MTDs, and now DH cones. Where's Mapleshade? Anyone see Herbie? Myrtlewood anyone? I am still trying to figure what is inside the Mpingo disc..... 1. Nothing - we ruled that ou...
Talk but not walk? Ok, door No. 1 - nothing. They are apparently made from Mpingo (i.e., African blackwood - which is thought to be musical because of the internal structure of the wood) and Gaboon ebony wood. I can find no evidence of any "special sauce" inside...
Paypal issues through Audiogon I have been buying/selling here since 1999 and recently (the past year?) have experienced the same issue as @bbarlow690 (i.e., cannot link sale to PP credit card) when I try and use PayPal. I use PayPal for many other purchases outside of Audiog...
Talk but not walk? Whoa.....resistors, capacitors, power supplies....how can these possibly be more important to sound quality than wood blocks, audiophile fuses, and skinny power cords? Sheesh, just when you get the cows corralled, one breaks the fence.
Talk but not walk? I have been using a "break-in machine" (aka, cable cooker) for years. I will now consider myself a "big picture" guy, enlightened, an early adopter, an innovator, and by association....a walker.Elizabeth, the trick is to shoot the fish, not the b...
Two Subs? Having two subs has resulted in about four times better bass in my system - for music. I would like to try three subs.
Guizu furniture (Nobility furniture) from China Looks better than some and not as good as others, I guess the value will be based on the pricing, which I didn't see - it appears you call-in to get the prices.Everyone decides for themselves where they fall with regards to appearance vs. function...
Leaving Solid State Equipment on all the Time Almost 40 years into this hobby and I have finally found an all solid-state system that sounds great no matter what is playing. I leave everything turned on all the time, except for the two 300 wpc Class A monoblocks, which I sometimes power up ni...
Does hearing the best in high end audio make your opinions more valid? @celander Validation of that opinion requires acknowledgement of a reference state. Exactly. So, is the reference state based on price tag, measurements, opinions of self-proclaimed golden ears, public opinion, ear of the beholder, all of the abov... |
