Do speaker cables need a burn in period?
@cleeds To your question - Yes@geoffkait Yes, I have rolled up my sleeves and investigated aftermarket fuses of several varieties and directionality of those fuses.  Bottom line is that I do not perceive differences between those aftermarket fus...
Do speaker cables need a burn in period?
Geoff, How many customers of (directional) aftermarket fuses are there since they first came out 15 years ago? 100,000? That’s a whole lot of typical people who can hear wire directionality. Of course, I am skeptical that those folks actually hea...
Do speaker cables need a burn in period?
@geoffkait The wire in cables and fuses is physically asymmetrical. That’s why resistance measures slightly lower end to end one way than the other. Guess which way sounds better. My understanding is that the premise is the asymmetrical directional...
Do speaker cables need a burn in period?
Having a screw loose is not a verification of, or a prerequisite for, being an engineer.....maybe something else though...
Do speaker cables need a burn in period?
To me, this stuff is a matter of degrees.  I don't disagree that any number of small things can change how a system sounds , but at what point does it make a meaningful difference in relation to everything else going on in a system .....i.e., a...

Careful Geoff, you are starting to sound like a conspiracy theorist
Do speaker cables need a burn in period?
Oh ooh, @azbrd where have you been hiding?Geoff, I think I need a refresher, skeptic or pseudo skeptic? To one of your points, I did a very small amount of sleuthing and could not find much reported about a positive effect/correlation between cryog...

Don’t know about a curse, but a key word in my last post magically turned to “crap.”  Apparently not everyone is asleep at the wheel.
Talk but not walk?
MG, you have seemingly thought through the issues related to the maturing/aging of the HEA industry. Your post reads like a combination obituary/inspirational talk with the sum equivalent being, crap  happens. Stereophile, Audiogon, MG, or the res...
Duelund DCA16GA
@grannyring  I have found the Rhodium plating a tad bit too detailed on some other builds vs gold. Very subjective thing and I am sure not a universal rule? What have you found?I agree with you and might add the word "splashy" sometimes, maybe a ...
Duelund DCA16GA
@jaybe PartsConnexion is certainly going strong.  They are offering a price reduction on the Duelund wire currently...at least they were yesterday when I bought some.  They also have a quite favorable price on the KLEI banana connectors, if you we...
Duelund DCA16GA
I ordered the additional 12 awg Duelund wire for a pair of bi-wire speaker cables yesterday.  I was planning to use the KLEI bananas for terminations but checked my supply and found I already have plenty of new spades so will use those instead of ...
Duelund DCA16GA
I plan to make one last pair of speaker cables using Duelund 12ga wire twisted as bi-wire pairs (i.e., one 12 awg wire to each speaker terminal) and KLEI bananas all around.  I look forward to hearing the result.
Talk but not walk?
@kosst_amojan For giggles I decided to Google MG yet again... Ok, I was curious and did so also.  I found a bunch of other folks named Michael Green and had to add "audio" to my search.  Dismissing MG's own website, facebook, etc., I did find that...
