Klipsch La Scala 2018 or the Triangle Cello?
If you purchase the La Scala, you will have $3K left over to buy the AudioKinesis Swarm subwoofer system that should provide excellent bass in your room. I have no suggestion to help with the tweeter problem described by dweller but maybe the othe...
What isolation feet under your amp with great result?
@tweak1 , Geoff has been saying "mass on springs" for years, and after the past two months of trial and error I have ended up with springs under my heavy speakers and amps.  The spring stiffness (i.e., spring rate), load capacity, diameter, and he...
Interesting discovery when my carpets were cleaned yesterday!
Lots of users here report good results using the IsoAcoustic Gaia footers under their speakers.  While I am certainly not questioning the sonic effectiveness of the Gaia footers, I am interested in learning more about the technology behind how t...
Interesting discovery when my carpets were cleaned yesterday!
I started my decoupling experiment a little over a month ago as documented in this thread:https://forum.audiogon.com/discussions/decoupling-speakers Currently, I have in my room, Herbie's Giant Fat Gliders under my two large subs (about 150 pounds...
Are my standards too high?
@kenjit  The only answer to this riddle is to train audiophiles to understand that the speakers currently on the market are substandard goods. Why in the world would we want to be trained?  Just so we can all be as miserable as you?  I am happy w...
Am I too big of a jerk, even for audiogon?
@bdp24 Be wary of statements attributable to;" four people with firsthand knowledge of the discussion" who remain unnamed, especially in the absence of hard evidence and when there are others willing to share their names who refute those claims. ...

Springs under turntable
@millercarbon , I started my spring journey a couple of weeks ago and now have most of my system on various springs.  I have experimented with different sizes and stiffness of individual springs instead of going the Nobsound route.  Although, it d...

Springs under turntable
@mijostyn  in that situation the springs are not isolating the speakers or the floor from anything I am interested - please explain further since the springs would be between the speaker and the floor.
Help me understand "the swarm" in the broader audiophile world
@tyray Your above quote from Aerial’s Michael Kelly is very similar to a multiple sub white paper excerpt here:Earl Geddes was Manager of Advanced Audio at Ford Motor Company here in Michigan and has a PhD in Acoustics, while his wife (and partner...
Help me understand "the swarm" in the broader audiophile world
@veerossi I’d bet if Duke and James joined forces with REL, they would sell the crap out of a wireless/ self-powered 4 sub bass array. Your comment made me think of two reasons I have not tried a DBA yet, and something Duke (or somebody) could wor...
