Where has been your most effective placement for an aftermarket fuse?
To those with SMc Audio gear, Steve and Patrick seem to have done extensive fuse auditions during their equipment burn-in processes and do provide different recommendations for different gear and even recommendations to shade the presentation diff...
Need Footers for Amps on Isolation Platforms?
Currently using Stillpoints under my 70 pound monoblocks that sit on SRA platforms.  I like the SRA platforms but I suspect the Stillpoints are redundant, as told to me by the SRA guys.
What isolation feet under your amp with great result?
The vulcanized rubber hockey pucks are way harder than typical rubber footers.  Anyone else have a clue as to their damping abilities vs. other typical options discussed here?  I would be interested in trying them under my 70-pound amplifiers, whi...
What isolation feet under your amp with great result?
Hockey pucks consist of vulcanized rubber.  In the audiophile world, rubber is not generally known for being a desirable footer material.  The vulcanizing process results in a rubber material with increased rigidity and durability, as well as othe...
What isolation feet under your amp with great result?
@mahlman  Right now both of my legs are the same length. As a suspected "naysayer" I am compelled to challenge your assertion and ask whether you have measurements to substantiate your claim?  Have you opened this belief up to study and confirmat...
Spikes or rubber feet.
@gphill  I called Aerial and talked to Michael Kelly about this very issue. He recommended that I use the spikes since my floor was not a slab but a floor with joists over a basement. Interesting since it is usually the other way around.  Decoupl...
What isolation feet under your amp with great result?
Silent Running Audio (SRA) platforms work great under my amps.  You need to have the platforms made (or refurbished) for your specific amplifier(s), i.e., weight, size, and footer location.  With their platforms, you can use your amp's existing fo...
Network Switches
@rilbr "Here we go again. I just saw 50 to 60 posts from people who have not tried one of the switches in question. This just confuses people who come here to find out results."Seems to me this thread has stayed pretty much on task as it is about N...
Do Audiophile Cables Matter? Here's PROOF!
Ok, I’ll bite, where is Geoff?I have been off riding my bicycles the past two weeks and am out of the loop.Hopefully just a small misunderstanding with the management and not something more serious?
Are cables really worth their high price because of their geometry?
Geometry, purity, gauge, network box, direction, coating/dielectric, termination, damping........one pill makes you larger and one pill makes you small, and the ones that mother gives you, don't do anything at all - it all makes a bit of differenc...
Do Audiophile Cables Matter? Here's PROOF!
You are absolutely correct.....it made no difference.I expected a bit more from somebody with a globe of the earth in the shape of a square cube. However, I do like their tube connector concept and I like that they use solid core copper wire and co...
The Best Isolation/ Vibration Footers per component - what's your experience?
@vinylvalet , I suspect the differences between Herbies products and EVP would be less for lower weight components and would also depend on the rack/platform the component sits on.  I use a variety of aftermarket footers from Herbies, edenSound, a...
The Best Isolation/ Vibration Footers per component - what's your experience?
@vinylvalet , thanks for the EVP recommendation. Surprisingly, I have not heard of them before now and a search of these forums did not give me many responses. Interesting that they use (fiber) glass and rubber, which are typically not considered ...
Who says cables don't make a difference?
Wow, you folks are really working overtime here so you probably need a break.  This seems like a perfect time to revisit my question about: What do people who don’t worry about cables have in common with the people of Finland?Answer: They are (bo...
is this the greatest live band of all time?
@yyzsantabarbara I saw The Who in 1975, Rush in 1976, but Santana not until the 1990's - all were great shows! Pearl Jam would have been a sweet show.
