Laid back, or in-your-face?
My Krell kps25s is pretty laid back sounding in my system. ( this goes for its digital section as well as preamp section )My previous system with Krell FPB series amps and Avalon also, I would not call 'em 'in-your-face'.
Does your system reflect your personality?
hmm.. my systems have balls and I don't have any. lol.
Aria owners? Mike Elliot's new company
*I continue to be amazed at the discoveries I make while comparingequipment, but in the end, it shows me how inaccurate the art of stereo reproduction really is. *Indeed. It all depends on how each listener values his/her sonic priorities. (includ...

Kevziek,Nothing agaisnt B&W. I said it's the 'combination' of krell and B&W I don'tcare for. Krell sounds better without B&W, and B&W sounds better without krell to my ears. BTW, how do you know what 'accuracy' is?
Krell --- Are the Newer designs better?
I'd take Krell amps over any of the amps you've mentioned except bigger Boulder, maybe. How do they measure up? I'd say equally good. But different. Krell is just a fun amp to listen to at least for me. That's what's lacking fromthe rest on your li...
Headphone Amp Question not a HD600/RS-1 debate
A good 'fones benefit from good upstream components (including cables)just like regular speakers. More capable the 'fones, resolution and stage ability get better, too. I guess how much of headphone listening you do will determine how crazy you wa...

it's not the KCT. it's the combination if Krell and B&W thatkills music.
What is your cost for each system category ?
I didn't plan on it, but it ended up equally divided. cable cost the most, but only because they require a long run.
Headphone I can stand for more than 1 hour
Beyerdynamic DT880 and AKG K501 should be all right for a long listening. Certainly more comfortable than SR225. Grado's RS1 is not as bad as the rest.
Tom Waits...anyone?
Closing Time.
digital cable differences
this is why I generally don't like digital separates. Pain in the butt, I say. All coax vary (especially in tonalbalance ) in sound depending on what's connected to it. You just have to try different digital cables to find the oneagrees with your ...
My weakest link??
*You have some fairly good stuff now.*Gees, Newbee, 'fairly' good stuff? I think he's got the nicely assembled system. I agree small room like his is hard to work with.My room is similar to his at 10 X 12. Diagonal speaker set upworks well in awkw...
What tube amp mates well with Sonus Faber Amati's?
Art Audio Adagio monoblock with KR KT100 ( 60 watts of paralelled single-ended power )with NBS Omega cabling ( better bass control than Siltech mentionedelsewhere ) should drive Amati without the bass deficiency.
Amp for Verity Parsifal
Nagra analytical?Acutally, I found them quite opposite in spite thier starkindustrical appearance. 50 watts VPA, you are right, don't go far, when driving speakerslike B&W or Wilson, but, should do all right for Parcifal/encore.
Art audio Jota
I don't know how large your room is or your music preference, but, I have driven WATT 6 ( no puppies ) in a small 10X12 room withKR 32b tubes. My Jotas are monoblocked with larger balanced transformersto accomodate tougher load.Even then, they clip...
