Cary AE-3 Mk II I own and love the DJH. I haven't heard the MkII, but this is what Kevin at Upscale had to say about the differences: With the regular AE-3 and now AE-3 Mk 2 the bass can be a little bloated depending on the application, but the AE-3 DJHs front e...

Tonearms of exotic materials- esp. Carbon? Micro Seiki CF-1, CF-2, CF-3, MA-707 had carbon fiber arm tubes.
lessloss blackbody Lessloss does not deserve the bashing above. Toymanmark, I don't believe anyone is bashing Lessloss here. The only thing that happened is Cwlondon noticed 7 new members came out of the woodwork to give testimony to this product. They have no prior...
Wyred DACS No_regrets, I'm a little surprised too and wonder the same thing. I contacted W4S and asked if there were any reviews other than 6Moons. EJ said demand was so strong he couldn't loan any units to other reviewers. The verdict will shake out eventua...
Looking for an SS Integrated for Totem Mani-2's Don't reply to a thread by trying to sell your amp to the poster.I've seen a lot of this lately and tend to agree that it seems inappropriate. Why not send a personal message to the OP with an offer rather than cluttering the forums?
Nola Boxer speaker - for condo system IMO, a receiver isn't going to do justice to these speakers. Carl (Nola) leans heavily towards tube amplification. Of course, it's a personal decision whether you prefer SS or tubes, but I find there's a deeper/larger soundstage and a distinct lus...
Tube headphone amp? Bottlehead's Crack OTL Headphone Amp Kit is getting rave reviews by owners. Check out the Crack forum for more information.
Denon cartridge vs Audio Technica cartridge Without knowing the effective mass of the tonearm, my guess is the DL-301 and AT150MLX would be a better match. The DL-103 needs a heavy arm -- ideally 14-15 grams. I doubt your Denon arm is that heavy.
EAR 834P Impedance? Did Dan design the EAR 834P?
Capacitor log Mundorf Silver in Oil remember a lot of components are not very well connected to the casing, so even if you damp the casing of a cap, the windings themselves might resonate all on their own.Duelund_coherent_audio (Answers | This Thread)That's a good point, but it cert...
EAR 834P Impedance? I don't know if Dan's comments were directed at Stereophile or someone else, but the fact remains that EAR doesn't provide an official impedance spec for the 834P in their product brochure or on their website. Stereophile took the time to measure ...
Capacitor log Mundorf Silver in Oil Has anyone considered "potting" their external crossovers in some sort of viscoelastic gel? If vibration has such a negative influence on caps and inductors, wouldn't damping be the solution? Some of you have gone to great lengths to externalize y...
EAR 834P Impedance? I wonder where Dan came up with his MC values. Stereophile measured the 834P and found the following: Set to MM, the 834P's input impedance was 49.7k ohms in the left channel, 51k ohms in the right. The input impedances for the MC setting were 515...
lessloss blackbody A similar phenomena happened a year ago in this forum: http://forum.audiogon.com/cgi-bin/fr.pl?fcabl&1246375714An interesting comment was made by someone in that thread: 07-31-09: Jp1208So what or who made those 6 individuals all of the sudden... |
