Sunfire Load Invariant Amp Filter Cap Replacements
Mbrusso, what is motivating you to replace these capacitors? Is there a problem with the sound of the amp? How have you determined the capacitors are the culprit for that problem?
Oppo Repairs??
I had a BDP-83 repaired a few years ago by the OT Services group. It cost $100 to fix the transport mechanism that would not open or close. The repair took less than a week and they paid for return shipping. I would definitely work them again.  h...

Belles 200 Power Amp maintenance
David Belles is still in business and is relatively close to you. He should be able to give you some advice. I don’t know if he tests and repairs, but he should be able to recommend a technician. I suggest calling him. In my experience, his email ...
Sunfire Amp joule meter
The needle on the meter wasn’t designed to move during playback. It just indicates the amp is functioning. It’s a relatively useless thing.
Antique Sound Labs
I replied to your thread at Audio Asylum, but here it is again:  I have a pair of ASL AQ-1008DT that look very similar to your Model 108. The amps I have sound very nice. Roger Modjeski worked on them just before he died and he was impressed with...
School Of Rock new video
I love it. That made my night. Thank you for sharing!
David Crosby R.I.P.
Rest in peace David Crosby! I'll play my favorite album to honor the occasion:   If I Could Only Remember My Name https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Gq4eWkSL5nE
Selling gear with TMR
I recently bought from The Music Room and was impressed with their support when FedEx became a problem. I was totally impressed with their packaging. They went beyond anything I've ever seen. They use a liquid foam packaging process that completel...
Help.... I'm scared to 'upgrade'!
Oran, thank you for the heads up! I had the iPhono3 for a minute last year. I know I didn't give it enough time in my system, but I felt like my tweaked Bottlehead Seduction gave me more of what I want. If the Zen Phono has a full-bodied 3 dimensi...
Helping a kid out
I have to echo what others are saying about these kits. There is something so satisfying and tangible about being involved with a build rather than just shopping for gear. You become intimately involved. I built a Bottlehead Seduction a number of ...
Anyone here using vintage speakers?
I have an early pair of Shahinian Obelisk (approx 1980). Obelisk were released in 1977 and are still in production 44 years later. The drivers have changed, but the overall design is the same. I don't know of any other speaker that falls into this...
Parasound A21+ vs Adcom GFA-585se
I've been very happy with a Parasound A21 driving Ohm speakers rated at 89 dB. The sound is effortless, lush and beautiful. I've had a number of other amps including digital and tube, but I keep coming back to SS. If money weren't an issue, I migh...
Surge protector without line conditioner
I've been using a Zero Surge 8R15W-I for the past 7 years and find it to be non-intrusive with source components. It gives me a peace of mind, but I question whether it's necessary as I live in the SF Bay Area and lightening strikes are extremely ...
Why are equipment racks so expensive?
A few months ago I made a rack inspired by this thread: https://forum.audiogon.com/discussions/built-a-diy-butcher-block-and-iron-pipe-rack-over-the-weekendI'm really happy with results. It's as solid as a tank -- weighing more than a 100 lbs. I l...
