Which Amplifier for Sonus Faber Olympica 3 Speaker What is your budget for the amp?
Sonus Faber Cremona Auditors or Olympica I I have had Cremona Auditor Ms for 5 yrs now and the only thing I will replace them with is the Guaneris. My equipment is McIntosh C2300, MC452, MCD500, VPI Aries 3 TT, REL B3 sub-bass system. Amazing little speaker for a bookie. I have not had ...
Hated my Pro-Ject Debut III looking for another budget option. Kind of thinking Thorens I have never seen a TT with a hanging counterweight. I have seen many with hanging anti-skate weights though.
Monitor Audio I had considered pairing the Bronze with my Rega Brio-R, DAC-R, and Apollo-R for my office system. Took my Brio to a MA dealer to listen...it was OK but felt the weak link was the MA Bronze. I settled on Harbeth P3ESRs to team with my Rega gear ...
Building second system around Harbeth P3 esr I have now had my office system set up and running for 3 weeks. The P3ESRs do put out plenty of full spectrum sound, more than I expected from a mini-monitor. The Rega gear has matched rather well with the Harbeths (Brits love Brits). People wh...
Electronics for Harbeth, Especially Monitor 40 series I don't have the big Harbeths but for my office system P3ESRs I am using a Rega Brio-R, Apollo-R, and a DAC-R. Works well together.

Sonus Faber Stradavaris in the New England area. Check on the site Audioaficionado.org - many Sf owners there and it is a friendly group of chaps.
Replacement Sonus Faber grille strings? I have heard that fabric stores carry silk strings close to the ones used by Sf.
Outer Platter Rings I use the VPI brand with my Aries 3 turntable. It is self centering so no adapter required. I noticed an immediate improvement when compared to a screw down clamp only. Bass was more controlled and soundstage increased.
Building second system around Harbeth P3 esr I am setting up my office system as I write this. I bought a pair of P3ESR used ($1200) and went with the Rega Brio-R, DAC-R, and Apollo-R (I got all three new for less than $2000). I had Mike at Audiophile Vibration Control build me a desktop s...
My final table , hopefully ! SoundStageDirect.com carries VPI (among other brands, too) and do allow trade-ins. That is how I got my Aries 3; traded my Rega P9.

Finally stepping into the hobby after 30 years of watching from the sidelines Rogue Cronus has high power because you have to run the snot out of the tubes which will cause premature replacement. IMHO, PrimaLuna, although less power, offers up a better audio experience than Rogue. A good entry level, no frills TT would be... |
