Do you all agree when Prince said the 60s, 70s and 80s were the golden ages of music?
Standard Boomer nonsense. @michaelsherry59 is nothing but a troll. Completely agreed.
Spotify HiFi imminent?
@soix ,Like I said before, Tidal currently is way ahead of Spotify in terms of resolution -  no doubt about that. I had a trial of Qobuz and it definetely was better than Tidal. Unfortunately neither Tidal or Qobuz has the broad range of music I s...
OK, so I have to ask. Is this real, or is this a joke?
I am not going to buy this stuff. But I find it ridiculous when people present their opinion even without experiencing the product. Of course they are entitled to their opinions - but they may not be valid. And to ridicule someone because they foun...
Spotify HiFi imminent?
@soix ,I find that even with mp3 resolution, Spotify seems more musical than Tidal. Mind you, I said "musical", not "quality". Tidal has definitely more "air" and sounds open, hifi and nice punch. But to me it sounds sterile compared to Spotify. I...
New Preamplifier Testing (Poor sound)
If ALMARG was around, he wold have checked the impedance for the amp and pre-amp and would have come up with a recommendation. I think that would most likely be the reason. Try to look up those numbers and see if that is what the issue is.
I feel bad for GenX'ers that missed out on the 60s and 70s.
I am Gen X. And I love music from 60s-80s. Great music was made then. And I enjoy music from all eras. The problem is during 50s-80s the music production was limited and probably they had quality over quantity. Now-a-days any Tom/Dick/Harry withou...

PROAC D48R Bass Booming
@gnanasekhar ,Good to know that your issue is resolved. As a fun track, try to listen to "Jazz Variants" on your speakers.@mozartfan,Have you personally listened to the ProAc D48Rs?Unless you heard a component you cannot make judgements, because y...
Need opinions on ceiling reflections
As the OP, I wanted to get back on the solution that I put in place. And I still continue to learn more about acoustics. So I went with the GIK 242 2’ X 2’ panel that I mounted, flush with the ceiling. I used a "corner bracket" to do this. My initi...

valid concern. But it looks like his daughter and her husband are taking over. The future remains to be seen. Hoping the ProAcs thrive the way Spendors are doing after Spencer and Dorothy.

+another one for ProAcs@garebear as a ProAc owner, I am obviously biased. All the speakers you mentioned are highly desirable ones. If you get a chance, try to audition them. Yes, Thomas is a genuine and honest dealer. And the sound that I envisio...
Need opinions on ceiling reflections
@jdub39,I had not heard that before. I was thinking the ceiling is already low on that part and hence keep the panel as close to the ceiling. Any specific reason why to keep it at the same distance as the thickness of the panel? Will be interested...
First tube preamp recommendations (under $5k)
You need to audition the Backert Labs Rhumba 1.3. If $5k is the goal, then go with the Extreme version.
What is the #1 equipment want currently on your HiFi horizon???
A dedicated DAC - most likely R2R or R2R Hybrid.
Need opinions on ceiling reflections
I have placed an order for a 2"X24"X24" 242 Panel from GIK. Now looking for the best hardware to get this mounted flush to the ceiling.
