Good starter amp recommendation
If that is anything like the DNA .5 then you lucked out, as that is one of the best sounding SS amps on the market. Very involving, full-bodied and dimensional, with a sound to rival even a lot of really good tube amps.
Help with room treatment?
Love the records. Did the exact same thing one time myself. This big record company VP (no kidding) was coming over, my room was all new and empty, thought I had to do something, so I put some records out just exactly like you did. And the guy, he...
Help with room treatment?

Help with room treatment?
Well you can always PM me.Never be afraid to try things out. People will tell you things for all kinds of reasons, or no reasons at all. DYODD- do your own due diligence! You can send a photo but it turns out I am clairvoyant. I see two chairs sid...
Soundstage disappeared!?
This is the part that gets me: while listening to my system, during a song I noticed the bass went neutral & the instruments disappeared into the back of the room Is this correct? This wasn’t something that happened who knows when and then yo...
Tube Amps Watts vs SS amp
Yeah- measures worse, sounds better. That's pretty much it in a nutshell.
Best earphone for the value
I had a pair just like those. They work okay. Better than ear buds anyway.I love my Shure SE535, for many years now. But if I were ever to replace or upgrade it would be to these https://www.amazon.com/Shure-SE846-CL-Isolating-Definition-MicroDriv...
Newbie looking for speakers
Well I would never put anywhere near that amount of money into speakers to be used with a receiver unless it was Step One in my Overriding Plan to Completely Upgrade my Entire system. Then IF that were my goal I would strongly consider the speakers...
Tube rolling Question
I've tried a bunch over the years. Save your money. There's differences sure but once you get past noisy/old to good/new I just don't think the remaining differences are worth much. Especially when you can get a whole lot more improvement from som...
In-wall speakers vs. bookshelves plus subwoofer for Stereo/HT setup
Bookshelves, for sure. Everything mijostyn says plus bookshelves you can experiment with placement. Something changes they easily move onto a stand. Or whatever. Point is, options. Not to mention they just always look a whole lot better. For bass t...
Bridging an amplifier
Well as Austin Powers put it, "Everyone likes their own brand."On Wall St its called talking your own book.A psychologist would probably see it as evidence of cognitive dissonance.Me, I just see it as way too simplistic. You hear a guy talking lik...
Help with room treatment?
For speaker placement- First big choice is do they go L/R across the long wall, or the short wall? Room layout might dictate one or the other and if so no worries. But if not then the only way to know is to try.Next big choice is speakers and list...
Trying to reduce noise while listening to tube phono
So we got lucky. And thanks to mijostyn learned something about tube rush as well. Glad I was able to help.
Tube Amps Watts vs SS amp
First off yes, there is a difference between tube watts and ss watts. Tube watts seem subjectively to be about two to three times as powerful, authoritative, whatever you want to call it, as ss watts. When it comes to driving "these high end speake...
