Tube preamplifier circuits
Its the classic tradeoff between noise and sound quality.
What is this speaker cable connection?
Thanks for the extra photos! The more photos the more problems we can see! They inexplicably screw a barrel over the thing, for no other reason than to hold the little red or black plastic ring. Brilliant! The spade itself, instead of being flat o...
What is the voltage To bias a marantz 8b?
You need help reading the manual? Okay. As the marantz owner's manual explains, tube bias is adjusted to 50 mA. There is no reference to voltage. Got it?

Tonearm lift
Regular old teeter-totter one will work just fine.
What is the voltage To bias a marantz 8b?
I heard there’s this thing called a browser. Apparently you type letters in and out pops the answer. In fact, a whole bunch of answers! The one I think you are looking for is 50 mA   https://www.thetubestore.com/lib/thetubestore/schematics/Marantz...
Recommendations for Integrated Preamp Migration to Separates?
You'll be able to get much better sound from a good integrated like a Raven Blackhawk or Reflection than just about any combination of separates you can put together for the same total cost. https://www.ravenaudio.com/product/blackhawk-mk3/ But wh...
Just another Orange fuse thread

Home Theater Done Right: Millercarbon's System
Thanks. Tweaks are just like components, they are not created equal. Some are much more effective and high value than others. The trick is to cover all the bases bringing everything up to around the same level. Everyone has their favorite. Its the...
Any one try the new Synergistic Research BLUE UEF Duplex receptacle?
What is that? Like 500 words of pointlessness? The point of the Orange is the sound. What is wrong with audiophiles? How about, instead of reading NEC try reading whostolethebatmobile? That’s what I did, and just ordered some f0.Q thick and thin f...
With what you know now what components doe you wish you had bought years ago?
Distributed bass array. Hands down.
Non-rear ported Speakers
The best imaging most enthralling speakers I ever heard were the front ported Linaeum Model 10. For a more recent example, Tekton seems to be taking the audio world by storm. I really never heard of this crazy front ported rule thing before.  A fa...
Universal room treatments
Have a look at my system. https://systems.audiogon.com/systems/8367There’s nothing truly universal that all rooms need because the rooms are as different as the people and the systems. But the physics of sound is universal and so there are some ge...
