What is Happening?
You like grain and glare, which you misinterpret as detail and extension.
Woofer pumping possibly due to tube amp when playing vinyl
I can’t discount your thoughts about the clamp, but how would this affect the outer edge of the record where there is no clamp. I use a heavy record weight - which I know you say is no good - but it firmly holds the record onto the deer hide mat. ...
“BLOCK” Function?
It's hilarious how someone can become a caricature of himself. Tell me about it. I have a whole list of em!
Better Cartridge/Turntable advice for old-school Hip Hop music
After paying almost $4k on upgrading the table, ALL my Hiphop records sound MUCH slower in speed, rapping vocal became less powerful, which I know for the genre, speed and power would be the 1st priority, hence in general the music became less...
“BLOCK” Function?
Sorry, but there is no way to block even people who want to go around locking people up for the crime of holding a different opinion.
Woofer pumping possibly due to tube amp when playing vinyl
Lord. Of course its the turntable. Specifically, its the way the record is clamped to the platter. ALL records, if you just plop them down, are going to produce some degree of the very low frequency energy that you see as woofer pumping. When I pl...

ls this the frequency of vinyl
guitarsam, This is something I have been tracking for some time now. The frequency of vinyl is 5.6 times per week. The frequency of CD, in case you were interested, is 20 Hurts.
What is the best way to clean records?
Yeah, that is a killer SOTA record cleaning machine. Way too spendy for me though! The Walker Enzyme four step Tom recommended works quite well. All the Better-records.com Hot Stampers are cleaned with the Walker process using the RCM. I have quit...
Vinyl records
Vinyl is hit and miss. MoFi is known for high quality, but also produced the worst quality pressing with the most returns in Acoustic Sounds history. Some pressings are near dead silent, but the sound quality is stepped on and sucks. Some pressing...
the sound of massed violins in classical orchestral recordings
Is it the equipment? Yes.To understand why we will need to drill deep down into the details of exactly how a violin makes music. It’ll be worth it because a lot of the same things happen with a lot of other instruments, just not quite to the same ...
Springs under turntable
So I had 12 springs removed from the ones under the turntable left over. And I had a bunch of 3/4" MDF disks that were cut out to make the Spring Things. So all I had to do was drill three 1/4" holes about 1/8" deep to make my own little Nobsound ...
