Can you name the items in this system?
That’s the Binford Megasonic 5000, with optional turntable and Equalizer Roaster Oven. Featured in the Popular Mechanics article on the very best equipment for your modern day bomb shelter.
Speaker Positioning
Short answer: no. Long answer: Because no such thing can be made to work.  Speaker placement involves a lot of compromises that only you the listener can make. No dynamic AI or whatever is ever going to know exactly what you like. So sorry, but no...
A new way of adjusting anti skate!
Its crap like this that turns people off records. Reality is, the correct amount of anti-skate varies tremendously across a record and from record to record for the simple fact that groove modulation is the single biggest factor in anti-skate, and...
Basic technical question about digital source signals
You're thinking that since digital samples values at different points that when played back its a string of discrete points instead of a continuous curve. That's not the way it works. Whether played back through an amp or viewed directly from a pl...
Millercarbon's Mega Vibration Control Journey
The feedback problem I had with springs under the turntable is a damping problem. Its a problem because there is a certain range of frequency and amplitude level where we want the spring to be a spring. To let the shelf or component move freely. D...
Measuring TT Speed
Reality check: no belt, motor, AC, or anything else gonna make the lines "bounce back and forth" the changes in platter speed for that to happen are just insane, beyond the torque of the motor, and the OP wouldn't even need a strobe the table woul...

As Good as a Mohican... But Used.
Yeah I got your msg, thanks, and congratulations. That's one fine phono stage. Sounds great right out of the box, and then gets a whole lot better over the next month or so. Enjoy and let us know how it goes!

Regular old granite. Lots of different stuff in there.
What's your favorite boutique speaker maker
I've made 2 transmission line speakers, 2 ported subs and 2 sealed subs. In real Rosewood veneer. That's six speakers. All for the same customer! I'm shocked, shocked nobody has me down as their favorite boutique speaker maker.
Looking for more detail in a speaker
Catchy. Might just use it myself if you don't mind. https://systems.audiogon.com/systems/8367

Dearth of digitalis? Vanquished! Vinyl victor!
Bass Driver Size - how much better is an extra inch?
Bigger definitely will open it up more. Although there is much to be said for stroke, frequency, and duration. Especially duration. The longer the session the more it opens things up and the less constrained they get.
Why is black so popular for components?
Once you go black....
Power Conditioner
That's a great solution. Especially the 6/3 and Synergistic PC. The "decent quality 10awg power cable" you can always upgrade those later.
