For Your Edification and Enjoyment re "Burn In", etc.
"I seem to occupy a position in the industry and community that is fairly vacant, that of eschewing most forms of system enhancements/methods called "tweaks", and endorsing other methods that some ridicule. It all comes out of building hundreds of...

ways to store your records
More than a year gone by, and noromance still has the best. Everyone else has you looking at spines, and the drawers that pull out are dumber than dumb. Obviously the record store format rules, you can thumb through and actually see what you're lo...
Schumann Resonator
musicaddict-I am interested if anyone has any experience with the SRs that generate a square wave versus a sine wave. I am wondering about the possible differences between the two based on some comments on ’pain’ with square wave resonators. Thoug...
Phono stage question
When people tell you the phono stage in the Cary is quite good they are telling the truth. The part they leave out is, "for a phono stage on a card in a amp." You can do a whole lot better with an outboard phono stage, even without spending a gran...

Townshend Audio Podiums: The Full Review
Right prof. But let us set all that aside. The following little exercise is something I started doing all by myself back in the 90’s. People like to talk about marginal returns, always assuming it is less and less, on which I disagree, but whateve...
New Amp Choice
Your Golden Ears at 93dB are efficient enough you could use a Raven Blackhawk and have a greater sense of a dimensional envelopment probably than any of the others. https://www.ravenaudio.com/product/blackhawk-mk3/  A superb tube amp like that is ...

Even on a budget there are all kinds of options. Tekton Mini-Lore with a good $800 integrated for example, might seem to leave you with nothing to listen to. But you could connect your phone to that and it will sound better than the Marantz receiv...
Townshend Audio Podiums: The Full Review
Two things about the "punch" prof, one is as Rick told me, you will know it is right when the punch is through the air and chest not the chair and butt. A lot of what we think of as bass slam is just the speaker vibrating the floor and chair. You ...
Better Records White Hot Stampers: Now the Story Can Be Told!
Far as I know ALL purchases have the same 100% risk free guarantee.  When it comes to resale value I told Tom if he ever figures out how to put a laser hologram on the vinyl so subsequent buyers know it is genuine then resale values will grow and ...
Townshend Audio Podiums: The Full Review
Ozzy, far as I know they are only available direct from Townshend. Use their on-line store and contact John Hannant, he has been a great help to me and others, https://www.audiogon.com/listings/lisa6889-townshend-audio-seismic-isolation-podiums-si...

Btw, it is not the power rating that excludes the Marantz from consideration. It is a CD receiver. Whatever that is, it is a lot of stuff crammed into one box. Seems like a value but the sound quality will be atrocious!     Yet another filter: int...

Answering your question pblayer got me looking and I came across an important point mentioned earlier, the value in buying direct from the manufacturer. Please take a minute to check out the user review here https://tektondesign.com/product/full-r...

Your guy is nuts, the Monitor Audio is only 88dB sensitivity.  Look, you are on a budget, you have to be smart. Anything low sensitivity is going to call for more power in other words more money. There's a million components, a thousand great ones...
