OK...ONE LAST SPEAKER QUESTION cash cash
2bigears - I don't think there's a bad choice here. Of course you know where my vote falls, but I haven't heard the other. Owners of those would probably endorse theirs to the exclusion of all others too.Have any Def. owners returned theirs becaus...
Soliloquy 6.2i vs VS vr4jr , Zu Druid & Usher 6371
Nice w/u - well thought out and coherent. Their quiet magic grows and grows on you. If you were able to "get it" in one session, you definitely should take Zu up on the trial.
Soliloquy 6.2i vs VS vr4jr , Zu Druid & Usher 6371
It's interesting to me that each of these Zu vs. Whoever threads leads to the same types of discussions around the Zu's. Having heard none of these other options (but plenty like them), I'll postulate that the others will sound much more alike and...

Aktchi - True words. Everyone seems to have pet picks. The thing is, they're all doing business the same way and ultimately have the same problems.I've heard both ways and stated which I prefer. I doubt Zu will dominate the marketplace here the wa...

Having owned Druids, Definitions, and now the Definition Pro's, I'll chime in.The Definitions add very deep bass that the Druids don't by themselves. They also sound bigger but need more room to breathe. Resolution is greater but at the expense of...
Dared amps
I had the VP-300B's for about a week. I didn't like them and now they are gone.
My Yamamoto A-08s has arrived....Yay.
Mine showed up too. It's beautiful. Problem? Output tubes not here yet. If you get the EML's, they come separately and mine aren't here yet. So, I have a pretty and very quiet piece of industrial art.It looks nice on my rack.Talk about inky black ...
Question for Zu Druid owners...
I owned the Druids and haven't heard this combination. But, I'd bet it would be sweet. The Druids love tubes and don't hate power. Actually, they will CRANK if called upon. The Unico would be a bona fide muscle amp with Druids.
Zu Definition, AG Duos orCoincident Total Victory?
I'm using my Def's with a battery powered tripath amp that is very nice with them. When I was using a tubed pre, it was heavenly. But, heaven must not be good enough because I've gone to SS which has tipped the balance to clinical. A 45 SET amp is...

My custom red cabinets are gorgeous. Sean told me it's tough to get customers' speakers into the photo studio, as once they're done the customers want them immediately! He is aware of the issue but is also a very busy man. I will try to get some ph...

Geez, fellas. I'm "in the club" and I agree with you about the Zu sonic, i.e. I prefer it to all others I've heard.BUT, we all have different ears. There's no way that everyone will prefer Zu speakers, even on long-term auditions. I do not think t...

I'm with Phil. I don't have his depth of experience and I haven't heard any of the speakers you mention. I only comment, as the XO/multidriver problems I hear in every other speaker of that type exhibits the same maladies Phil describes. As the ot...
Squeeze Box upgrades
EAC can be configured to compress with .flac as the external compressor. It works like a charm and can consolidate the .wav > .flac process.
Question for Zu owners
I'm using mine in conjunction with my TV and DVD player, so I guess you could call that HT. No center channel and I don't feel like I'm missing much. Admittedly, HT isn't on my list of priorities.
Accurate vs Musical
I agree with Baroque in principle, though I would not describe the experience as "perfect".I have heard some professional monitor speakers that were tonally accurate and would seem to be very good for mastering recordings, as the speakers were ver...
