Would you buy speakers with out first listening ? Twice, and happy both times. Some types are not available in stores. This can save you a lot of money. If it's a mail-order deal, make sure you know whether crating/shipping is covered your way. My last pair had these included and the total out if ...
Fostex based speakers: Cain Abby or Omega Super3R They do look like the Fostex supertweeters. All drivers and ultimate product are made in-house though. They do rock, but they don't lose all the deliciousness you fell in love with. The transients and mids are every bit as present. The supertweeter...
Fostex based speakers: Cain Abby or Omega Super3R http://www.zucable.com/druid/index.htmlHaven't heard the Fostexes with subs, but I bet it's sweet. The Fostexes really get the mids and dynamics right and the value of that cannot be overstated. As I've said before, the Clari-T/Fostex combo had me...
Fostex based speakers: Cain Abby or Omega Super3R Zu Cable and Decware both make full-range speakers with 94 db + sensitivity that are Very competitive, though more expensive. I know a guy in the Seattle area that will have a pair of RL-3's and Druids in his house soon. He's got two Decware tube ...
Hiff Eff. Full Range Fostex Driver question These are like no other full-ranger I know of (except maybe Bastanis). Pink Floyd helicopter lands in my living room at over 100 db without a hint of compression. No exaggeration. These are like nothing else you've ever heard. They will thunder dow...
Hiff Eff. Full Range Fostex Driver question It's a 10-inch full ranger + supertweeter that kicks in at 12 khz with a simple resistor. So, no crossover in any way from 40 hz to 12 khz. I can't hear it there either. The highs are simply sparkling. The fostexes do a surprisingly great job in t...
Hiff Eff. Full Range Fostex Driver question I built some Fostex BR 206E's. I know these aren't the optimal enclosure, but they sound mighty fine. The Fostex line is great, though they don't excel at metal/rock. In fact, I'd say these are worst with this genre and significantly better with o...
I'm blown away by the Sonic Impact tripath amp. It's the real deal. With my Fostex 206E project speakers, the brilliant life and color of music makes me smile and cry. It is beautiful. My 206's aren't perfect, but with simpler music, this combination is the best I've heard.Oh yeah, for $750.
Efficency- Low vs. Hi? Your taste is pretty bass-heavy. Grinding, crunching, woofer-throwing music isn't generally regarded as the stuff hi-eff is made for. Inexpensive, hi-eff, big bass? Hmmm. . .gonna have to think about that one.For that musical taste, I'm thinking a...
Harmonic Technology Cyberlight cables Regarding breakage - partially humorous statement. Just that normal cables never break by continuously passing signal. Seems like a lot of different elements and complicated trickery going on with these.
Harmonic Technology Cyberlight cables These may be the first cables in history to break or wear out through normal usage. |
