Digital Room Correction For Speakers
The best out there right now is the Trinnov Amethyst. It will do everything for you including bass and sub woofer management. It uses a very special microphone to calibrate the system and it does so from various points in the room. I have been usi...
Opportunity to knock out a wall - make an 18 x 30 room
Well, your bass should improve in the 18 X 30 X 8 room. The 18 X 19 is a bad room for hi fi. Dimensions are too close. I would go with the 18 X 30 X 8. Just make sure that wall is not load carrying!

Teo you are so wrong. I get 110 db out of my ESLs and the only limit is amplifier power. You will never find a dynamic loudspeaker with near the realism of a floor to ceiling ESL which obviously you have never heard which means you have absolutely...
Possible turntable upgrade....
Millercarbon the only way to isolate a table is to suspend it correctly. You are right about tuning the suspension and The SOTA  does this by adding and or subtracting lead shot to a well under the tonearm board. Any table on a fixed base is only ...
Possible turntable upgrade....
Denjer I have owned two Linns over the years and I hated both of them but they were still the best table you could buy at the time. You have to trust me on this one. Get a SOTA Cosmos and stick your Graham on it.You will never buy another turntabl...
Question about background noise
Lewm6 to me a black background is No Noise. I have some discs that are extremely quiet but not black. Good digital systems run the digital at max gain then adjust the volume on the analog side so that you always have full resolution. My system doe...
Cartridge output question
May be a loading issue or a defective Air Tight which would be unusual but you did have to send it back.

Question about background noise
There is no such thing as an entirely silent background with vinyl only variations in not so quiet. This is mostly due to the quality of the vinyl with contributions from stylus shape and frequency response. If you want black back grounds stick wi...
Custom tonearm boards - who makes them to spec?
Wow, In my day audiophiles were very creative guys. We made our own arm boards. Childs play. go4vinyl if you send me your arm board I will be happy to make you one out of anything you want as long as you pay for the materials, no labor included. I...
Do MC Cartridges Deteriorate over time
Suspension damping can change its characteristics overtime. With clean records I have seen styli last over 3000 hours. The only failures I have seen were due to failure of the coil wires at the solder joints. Copper will work harden so vibration a...
Tonearm suggestions for my Nottingham Analogue Spacedeck
Easy call uberwaltz. Kuzma 4 point 9.  There is no better 9" tonearm. It is an arm you will never sell. It can accommodate any cartridge perhaps with the addition of a little head shell weight. It has all the critical adjustments and a removable h...

Speakers under $50k that rival $200k+ speakers?
The Japanese have never been able to make a decent speaker. Who knows, with the westernization of their music they may pull it off one day. But, not with NS 5000s. Not even close.

Any electrostatic loudspeaker subwoofer or not. Dynamic drivers suck.
