Highest component/cable ratio? John, I tried, believe me. I went through Virtual Dynamics, Audience, Shunyata, Audioquest and others over many years. I have had systems costing almost twice as much. Eqipment by Pass Labs, Manley, Totem, Resolution Audio. I have tried quick A/B ...
Highest component/cable ratio? Hey Paul, I want to hear the difference, but just plain can't. I'm an early adopter of the Volex $8 power cables and I've been using VH Audio Pulsar ICs for over 5 years now. Paul Speltz Anti Cable speaker wires are as good as any I've tried. So, ...
Jackson Browne CD's I don't know the specific answer to your post, BUT, I just picked up his new Solo Acoustic Vol.2 CD tonight and between the Solo Acoustic Vol.1 & Vol.2 there are 4 songs off of the "For Everyman" CD: "Take It Easy", "These Days", "Redneck Frie...
Jazz Recommendations Arkprof, I just found Donny McCaslin last w/e while listening to Pandora.com. I liked the track they played of his, so I researched him and added "In Pursuit" to my Amazon Wish List (which is now up to 5 pages). I'm glad to hear it comes so highly...
What's better than the Jolida JD100 FWIW, I had a stock Jolida back in 2004, then went to a RA Opus 21 CDP after A/B comparison in my system. The Opus won out after a week of trials. Then in 2006, changes made to my system brought the Jolida back in and I really liked its sound (aga...
Jazz Recommendations For what its worth, if you're into this type of music, I picked up some leads on several jazz CDs from this thread and others and three of the standouts are:1. Oscar Peterson Trio - "We Get Requests" (Verve)2. Charlie Haden & Kenny Barron - "N...
What's better than the Jolida JD100 No doubt you'll get many recomendations. You'll need to define "better" for us as in what you're looking for. I moved from the Jolida to a Consonance CD120 Linear and my definition of better is: detail, smoother defined top end, a transport that i...
How do you move a 650lbs Rack on Hardwood... I think the guys who suggested the Masonite is the way to go. Don't forget the total weight is divided by the number of casters. Assuming you have 4 casters, you'll only have about 165 pounds on each. No problem for 1/8 masonite.
The CD you most listened to back in 2007 ? I'll second Jacqui Naylor - Shelter and throw in Kurt Elling - Nightmoves and Jashua Redman - Back East. Favorite female, male and jazz instrumental CDs (right now).
speaker wood care Humidification is the best answer per 4est. I would bet that your speakers are not the only wooden furniture in your home. The expansion/contraction of wood is one of the greatest forces known to man. Maintain humidity to "normal" levels and your ...
What Happened to CD Clubs & Stores to Buy CDs? Good comments here. While I agree that I miss the store brousing to uncover new music, I have found that "discovery process" has been replaced with websites like Rapsody, CD Baby, Yourmusic.com and Amazon to where I can customize a search and it i...
I need new music.... There is so much good stuff out there I find it hard to keep up. Try going to http://www.pandora.com and type in your favorite artist. I'd be surprised if you didn't find some new stuff. Also, go to Amazon and find an artist you like. Pull up a fa...
Who is your favorite jazz pianist I haven't seen Herbie Hancock yet? Not my favorite, but certainly a major contributor. I'm a 'softcore" fan of his. I have both of his latest collaborations with well known vocal artists (Possibilities and River). Very well recorded and a nice ecl...
